Bioshock TV Ad, "Surprise Announcement" This Sunday
Well, the rumor picked up in intensity this morning, and of course, this most recent announcement will only add even more momentum to the rampant speculation.
For now, this atmospheric FPS does remain exclusive to the Xbox 360 and PC, and there has been nothing official saying Bioshock would arrive on the PS3. But as you can see, it might actually arrive for Sony's next-gen system, although we'd have to wait until Spring of 2008. According to Kotaku, 2K Games has revealed a new trailer will hit Spike TV this Sunday, August 12, at 9 p.m. Eastern time...but that's not the big news. No, it's something else-
"...the trailer debut will close with a surprise announcement by Game Head's Geoff Keighley. You won't want to miss this!"
Great. Any "surprise announcements" about this game will instantly turn some heads, and PS3 owners are all hoping for the same announcement. Bring it to the PS3, 2K!

Ha, with all those big announcements in the past that were ok news at best I would say it's something like that, a small new feature or bonus added to the game.
Usually when companies announce they have a big announcement, it ends up being a mehaton. Here's hoping it's really news worthy.
Since this game seems to include many quiet creepy scenes that my super loud 360 would lessen the immersion factor of, I could wait for a PS3 version.

I don't think it will stay 360 exclusive, from the way they talk in their other interviews. It may not be announced this Sunday, but I bet it's going to happen.

Bioshock is exclusive to PC and X360 only in 2007. Wouldn't surprise me that a PS3 version is already in the works and slated for a summer '08 release.

Umm... There are some really good games coming out between now and Christmas!
It will be tough for me not to buy the 360version now sense ive been starving for a good game.

Umm... There are some really good games coming out between now and Christmas!
It will be tough for me not to buy the 360version now sense ive been starving for a good game.
I'm a loyal Sony gamer. I've always loved their gaming controls and hardware/software innovations but the 360 has come so far in the last 3 years and is getting stronger with its exclusives and multi-platform developers putting it first. I think I might have to grab one this holiday season for Halo 3 and PGR4 alone. I don't see the PS3 getting any stronger until 2008. Developers will continue on giving us lackluster ports until they get more familiar with the hardware. It seems that these next generation systems are taking at least 3 years to hit a consistent stride and both has room to grow. The Wii has reached it's peak IMO.

UPDATE: A reliable source tells CVG that the announcement will involve Xbox 360 download content - sepcifically downloadable plasmids for the console version. We'll let you know how good our info is on Sunday.
On the other hand, I'm tired of hearing how weak the PS3 is this holiday. It ain't. Let's be clear: the drought ends in about 3 weeks and soon there will be too many games for me to buy on the PS3.

Well, the 8 days apart happens alot, some titles show a release date for Tuesdays, the day the game usually ships to retail, others list Wednesdays, the day retailers actually get the title. The September 4th for LAIR is most likely going ot be in stores on the 5th.
The two day difference on the other one is because one is listing the tuesday ship release (Ratchet) and GT: Prologue will most likely be a PSN download, which are on Thursdays instead of Tuesdays/Wednesdays.

Krieger119 08-12-07, 10:40 PM Yea, I'm downloading the demo now. Personally, the ONLY letdown right now on the PS3 is the demo availability. The 360 gets demos for almost every game. The PS3, on the other hand, doesn't. Not a big concern for me though.

No, all those rumors were untrue. They have said that it would be exclusive to the PC and 360 only.

I'm so sad this game isn't being released on PS3, and you know what? I'm trying SO hard to hold onto my PS3 and not trade it in for a 360. Although this game, Halo 3, and a few other games like Alan Wake are tempting me, it's the multiplatform games that makes me wish I had a 360. I'm just scared Call of Duty 4 and Assassin's Creed won't look as good as the 360 version due to coding and I like the 360 controller more than the PS3 controller.
Anyway, I just think about Final Fantasy XIII, MGS4, Uncharted, Killzone 2, Eight Days, The Agency and a few other games and it makes my temptations go away.
