Okay I'm back. No single reason contributed to my departure. Some reasons were:

1) Was spending too much time at forums in general (I stopped going to videohelp at the same time).

2) AVS was bogging down my browser with all the advertisements.

3) Seemed like I was answering the same questions over and over (Anamorphic Widescreen for example).

4) With the demise of NTSC tuners, it seemed like the new generation of DVD Recorders all lacked Hard Discs Drives, which I tend to advocate over HDD-less recorders.

I guess I'll have a look around and see what everyone's talking about these days.

You'll find lots more questions about widescreen and anamorphic, esp. now that units with digital tuners are out and about. Hope you find something interesting enough to stick around.
