i was playin The Darkness and this is the best game i have played on my PS3 in a while, and when i went to play it, something came up as it being Corrupted Data and this aint the first time it happened, because when i save NBA Street: Homecourt it did the samething.

can someone tell me some advice i can stop this from happening?

never quit/exit a game while its loading any menu or level.
always back up your game saves. always.
