I hope this is the correct forum:

I'm a little frustrated with my room setup, and was wondering if anyone had ideas. My living room is not the biggest in the world, about 10x12ish. I have my 40 inch HDTV in one corner, my computer desk in another, and my couch.

I've been fooling with the possibility of using my HDTV as my computer monitor also. I even bought a wireless keyboard for this, but I still feel as if, even at high dpi, I can't read things comfortably.

I also like to have TV on to listen while I compute. I also play World of Warcraft, and would like a more comfortable setup to play it. I'm always shifting positions in my computer chair. If I'm tired I'd like to sit back like I'm on a couch, but obviously I can't do that.

Does anyone have suggestions on a more comfortable computing chair or living room setup? How do you handle this problem?

your tv isn't big enough :)

my room is about 11x13 and I had my computer hooked up to my 19" crt monitor in one corner, and on the far wall I had a 106" screen, for movies, and gaming with the pc and my xbox. I've recently moved the computer into the closet, which is relatively large, it's where my receiver, dvd player and whatever else I have in my audio/video rack reside. I just picked up a 22" monitor, which is very nice, and very big releative to what I had before-and when I need to go bigger I come out of the closet :P and fire up the projector.

I used the setup you see in my sig to play WoW a bit. Since then I took out the HTPC. Its very hard to be comfortable computing to a setup like this. I’ve tried a million things and its just not ergo. I even have a top of the line Logitech bluetooth keyboard. I've tried it all and nothing beats a good computer desk and comfy computer chair with 2 dual 20" monitors sitting 2 feet from your face for wow (wow on one monitor in a window) and full access to the rest of your computer on the other monitor.

I have it all in my bonus room right now. From my "HT" setup you see below, there’s a big sectional couch that we can sit on and on the other side of that is a big computer desk where I can sit here and do computer stuff and look perfectly over at the 60" which is not more then 15 feet away.

my main problem is I like to have both TV and computer at the same time. If I didnt' insist on that, my house would be much more inviting. Perhaps I should get a smaller computer station and a bigger monitor...to add to this one for dual monitoring!

i got the same situation, adding a 52" lcd in my living room and want to be able to use it as a monitor for my computer, but still need a dedicated computer monitor as i like to watch tv while on the computer too.

dont have room for a desk in my living room, and cant figure how to setup the computer cpu, monitor, etc, in the living room without a desk. i will have a large sectional couch.

at this point i might convert the center coffee table into a multipurpose desk with mouse, keyboard, and monitor somehow integrated and run the wires to the component location, at the front of the room, and add the cpu and printer there.

this has kept me up for many nights, need a genius idea on this one. it aint gonna be comfortable to lean forward on the couch to use the mouse, and im not really tryin to have some detachable tray on my lap, lol.

and then theres the problem with the dedicated computer monitor, i cant just leave a monitor in the middle of the room on the coffee table, blocking the view of the tv and setup.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Ok but when you use your big TV for WoW, how do you compute with keyboard and mouse?

And even if you are sitting on your couch, aren't the font sizes too small when you use such a high resolution?

You cant see it in the picture but to the right is a small stand. The kind people used to use for "TV Dinners". Right now my Wife’s Dell laptop is on it. if I really want to play Wow on the setup (and I actually don’t), I just move the stand to the front with the bluetooth keyboard and mouse. But one of my points has been that I don’t like using this setup. I MUCH prefer to sit at my desk you see back there with the 2 20" LCD's to do any real computing.
