I have been trying to figure this out for the past 2 days since I got my PS3...Its really annoying me and pissing me off. I have the Samsung 4095D (40in 1080p LCD TV) and connected PS3 through an HDMI cable and optical cable connected to amp. Turned the PS3 on and it sets up display to use the HDMI cable and puts optimal resolution as 1080p and afterwards updated firmware to 1.9. So far everything was fine. Then decided try a PS2 game and see if that worked, worked, picture was fine and audio is fine. Next tried a DVD, and again, picture was fine, audio is fine. Downloaded some PS3 demos and tried them, picture is very clear and crisp, audio is fine. Then tried a blu-ray movie that I had purchased (Kingdom of Heaven).

As soon as I play this movie the one warning message pops up about copyright and stuff, 5 seconds later the screen goes black and TV says there is no signal, but I have audio and can hear the music playing in the background, but no picture, even left it playing for 5 minutes or more, nothing happened. Ejected the disc out and picture comes back to the main menu PS3 menu. I can not figure out what is wrong, is it the ps3??? is it the TV??? is it the Cable??? I do not have a PS3 game yet as I would test that to see if that has anything to do with it (blu-ray disc), only have a Blu-Ray movie

Any Suggestions or thoughts on what I should do???

Go into the BD/DVD settings, find the "BD 1080p 24Hz Output" option and turn it to "Off". That's most likely your problem.

thank you sooo much, that worked. It was set to automatic so I turned it off, my question now is what purpose would that feature have that I would need it on??? or should I always leave it off??

Again thanx

Some sets that are hitting the market allow for direct 24hz input via HDMI but some do not sync on the 24hz signal unless you force it. Also, some tv's get confused by the "automatic" setting so Sony added a firmware change to allow manual adjustments to the 24hz settings.
