I need some small speakers for my surrounds and have decided on either the Polk R15s, the M10s or the HTD Middies.
I can find the Polk R15s for far cheaper than the Middies. Any reason to go with the Middies?

I tried the Middies and didn't like them. They dropped off like a waterfall at the tuning point - and sounded hollow in the lower midrange.
If you wanted a suggestion outside of the Polk suggestions (which are solid choices ;) ) - check out the PSB Alpha CLR and LR. Very compact, sealed box designs, quality components (for the $)
I picked up a set about a year ago and have been very pleased with the performance. Alpha C, CLR (main), and LR (rear)
Cheers,

Thank you for the suggestion Russ. Unfortunately I can't justify the 100% increase in price for surround speakers at this point. Were you using the Middies as surround speakers?
My main concern was size. The WAF is low enough after the giant x-mtms I just purchased :)

my brother-in-law has the bigger brother of the middie as a Center channel in a large room and it sounds great. If you could I would also consider HTD In walls for surrounds. I have the HTD-W80 Front, Center, and side surrounds which all sound great. My rear surrounds are the Infinity Entra 1 flat speakers, they are high above so I needed something to angle to the listening position. But the side surroudns are in the ceiling. The surrounds are very detailed and offer a lot of bass. If you didnt like the middie HTD is great with customer service. One of the IN-walls I bought had a cosmetic blemish and about an hour after I emailed them I had an RMA # to send them back no questions asked. The big brother is a little bigger, but I love the sound of it. I am considering a set for a spare room, or possibly a second theater room, they are also on sale now.
Hope that helps.
