DVD: 9
Blu-Ray: 10
CD/SACD: 9
It plays all of the playable formats currently available. It does no more or no less than any other unit available right now

It will support DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD in future firmware update.
Other than that Linear PCM > Lossless Compression. Just technically better but not
sonically.
PS3 already decodes Dolby TrueHD. DTS HD-MA is rumored to be possibly added as a firmware update, but in any case none of the stand-alone BD players support this, either. I agree the PS3 is a great BD player and a good DVD and CD/SACD player. I expect it will be a great game machine once more games are out which make use of it's capabilities (should be 5 or 6 I'm interested in by the Holidays).

I thought PS3 converts it to LPCM. Hell it convert most of the time LPCM.
