I know there was some talk about this game being delayed..but according to bb/cc ads it will be in store by 2:00 p.m. on tuesday 8/14. I have been waiting for this game and hope it turns out to be good. Visually I am thinking it will be great..I just hope the gameplay is good.

BB also had GTA IV advertised to come out in October of this year as well, so might just be a lead time issue.

^^yea...but i got upset when they delayed GTA IV until next year.

The adds are most likely incorrect. Unless something has changed from Sonys delay announcement of course.

EDIT: I just looked at the announcement dates and on July 25th it was all a go for the 14th and then Aug 1st it was delayed until Sept 4th. I bet some of that ad work was already started and just didnt get the word something changed.

The ads probably went to printers ages ago before the delay.

Now if you speak to someone at BB/CC who has these in their stockroom that's a different story.

I was just at BB and they have a Lair sign in the PS3 section that says "September 5th" on it.

If you go to sony playstation3 site and scroll down the list of upcoming games it says lair will be out on 9/4..

I saw this in my local BB ad this morning as well but didnt post about it, because if you look closely there is a * next to the date saying something like "does not take into account manufacturing delays" or something like that. Im pretty sure its delayed til the 4th still.

I don't know about that. I have no interest in Madden, whatsoever. I do, however, have interest in Lair. I can't imagine I'm the only one.

I am worried about the gameplay of lair, so I am going to rent it first. The gameplay movies with the machine gun fireball effect while in flight kind of spoiled it for me.

The fact that the demo isn't out first has made me think twice.

Madden on the other hand is basically compulsory, I don't own a 360 so I will be picking it up on Tuesday or Wednesday for the PS3.

The Dev's have said that they are working to finish the game on time. A demo will come after the game is released.

Maybe I should cancel my pre-order until I get a chance to see the demo...

I think Lair is going to be a rental first for me, too. In this month's issue of EGM magazine, two reviewers gave it scores of 5/10 and one other reviewer gave it a score of 6/10, all citing big issues with the sixaxis controls. Not very promising! :(

If you are speaking about the 1up yours podcast, the controls apparently have been fixed (sixaxis not used when on the ground....thank God!). They were just pissed that this wasn't a "ground breaking" game in that its essentially a "dragon mod" of rogue squadron.

I may be okay with that. Because it may be a pretty neat game to look at. I think it may be a game that I use to show off my theater system, but not actually play all that much. My nephews and such will like it, so I'll keep on it's pre-order, with lowered expectations.

To be fair to Lair, Garnett Lee (the guy from 1up hammering it) was playing it at the same time he was playing Bioshock. :D

He does say the ground battles are great and the game has a large scope. He just wanted some more creativity. He even mentions a part where you are flying around the legs of these huge mastodon like beasts shooting harpoons to trip them up. Got AT-AT? ;)

I was so looking forward to this game. But then between the delays, the poor reviews, the preview vids , the fact that they HAVE a demo but won't release it before the game is already on the shelves? (You know what it means when Movie's won't show previews....)

This is the first I've heard that it doesn't have online mp. I'm going to cancel. But there are a few other PS3 titles out there that I'm now looking into, so maybe ill see if I can just switch my order around.

Where did you guys hear that there was going to be a mp for Lair? They always stated that it was a story driven sp game, nothing else.

Although it would be cool to have a mp with dragons killing each other, this game wasn't planned this way.

So, does anyone have it? I was thinking of getting Madden and then maybe use the Toys R us coupon with it to get 20% off and also 50% off another disc (which could be Lair...if it is good...).

Nevermind, I went to the PS3 website and it seems Lair will come out September 4, 2007.
