Besides the cost, are there ANY advantages of the Driving Force Pro over the G25 for my PS3?

Disregarding cost, would it be a no-brainer to get the G25 compared to the Driving Force Pro?

Other than possibly wireless coming soon, any insight regarding holding off investing in a new wheel and waiting for something better “right around the corner”?

Thanks in advance,
Dan

there is no advantage over the G25 other than price, the G25 is the better wheel period. it has H pattern shifter, clutch, stronger force feedback, its quieter, newer and its nicer. :D you can also choose between H pattern or sequential shifting. with that said, the G25 is usually quite a bit more than the DFP.

The G25 will be better built but I'm waiting to replace my DFP until GT5 comes out, because I bet there will be a PS3 specific wheel released at the same time.

I have the Playseats Evolution Gaming Seat on its way and also a Buttkicker BK-GR Gamer and I'm debating what wheel to get. I dont want to spend all this and cheap out on the wheel. I almost pulled the trigger on the G25 a number of times but havent. Im not really sure what supports it yet or if it will be a supported wheel.

Ill be watching this thread and hope it gets some good posts.

Actually I have it the other way around

I bought a G25, now I want the Playseat in order to get the best out of that G25

I own both, and trust me, there is no reason to buy a DFP over the G25- the only real difference one might want is that with the DFP, you can change it to 900 degree mode on the fly, even in games that don't "support" it (it will still work, and in some games, one might like it better). The G25 mode can't be changed on the PS2/PS3, the game decides the mode.

Also, the DFP has a "hard" lock on the rotation, where as the G25 has a "soft" one. Meaning, if the wheel is set to say, 270 degrees lock to lock, on the DFP, it's impossible to turn the wheel past the lock point. With the G25, the wheel still locks, but if you turn it with a bit of extra force, it will turn past the lock point, though it has no actual effect in game.

Also keep in mind that the DFP was specifically designed for the PS2, and the buton placement works better for some games (on the G25, the PS2 face buttons are on the shifter pod).

The G25 brake pedal is super stiff, where as the DFP's is not. Some people may prefer the losser pedal.

Really though, the G25 is the best mid-range setup on the market, and provides the most immersive driving experience, and bang for your buck.
