Live has been getting a new demo like every other day. Ps3 gets the HS demo that lasts 2 mins and a japanese styled chicken puzzle game. I am really starting to think that 3rd party developers really hate working with sony. Does this bother anyone else? I find it rather frustrating.

I guess this doesn't bother anyone.

What about GRAW and The Darkness, didn't they both come out recently?

I think it bothers a lot of people but they seem to handle it better.

Its part of the reasons why Live is so much better than the PSN. Live just updates a lot more often, whereas the PSN gets updates maybe once a week. I guess you get what you pay for really, though i do like the PSN for multiplayer gaming, its PSN store really sucks.

Live is definitely more mature and has a lot more agreements in place with publishers.
PSN should get there.

Now, Live needs to upgrade a little so that demos like Bioshock don't take 12 hours to download.

MS has a lot of plans for Live. beyond just the 360. Their going to try to put it in everyone's homes, and they see it a big part of their companies future. It is their Blu-ray, in the sense that not only do gamers have to pay for it, but it also is subsidized by it's backer. Also, MS is a software company, and they do this kind of thing for a living, just like Sony is a CE company, and putting things like the BD player in the game is what they do for a living.

One should expect Live to be a better service than the PSN, for all the reasons above. We pay for it, MS subsidizes it, and they write software for a living. For similar reasons, one should expect Sony's consoles to be a more solid piece of hardware with advances like the BD drive. They are each playing to their strengths and business plans.

It's not realistic to think that the PS3 should be better than the 360 in every single possible way. Each will have things they do better.

I hear ya, when I see how many demos Live has it amazes me. Then makes me wonder when multiplatform games only have demos on the 360, makes me say that the game was specifically made for the 360 then just ported to the PS3.

I think the PSN will get there. MS definitely has a head-start with Live - they've had it since the original X-Box. But Sony definitely has big plans for PSN, which they are subsidizing fully. Home looks like it has great potential.

There's no way I'd pay a monthly fee for Live, which is one of the reasons I chose the PS3. If they provide as good or better than Live but free, then thats one in their favor.

The PS3 and PSN are newer. the 360 hardware has been out longer in developers hands, so its easier for them to write demos. The PS3, for better or worse, is a new platform to develop on, and hasn't been around long. Game developers 1st priority is the game, and if they are sacrificing demos to try to improve gameplay, PQ, framerate, then I'm all for it.

If a game ships a demo and then shipped a GM product that was lacking one way or the other, see how many posters would say 'I wish they hadn't spent so much time on the demo and had gotten the game right.'

We are smack in the middle of the doldrums of lack of game content, and I'm praying for some wind, too. Hopefully the upcoming game shipments won't disappoint.

I also want more demos. Where is the ratchet demo? Note- for those with a 360, bioshock demo is up. One hour of gameplay !!!!!

Live is to MS what Blu-ray is to Sony. I doubt the PSN will ever be as good as Live, at least not within the next decade, because it won't get as much attention as Live, and Sony is not willing to charge for it. But that's okay - there are lots of other things about the PS3 that are better than the 360. Online support just isn't one of them.

A better question should be "Where are the games?". I think the problem here is that the 360 is in its second year where as the PS3 is only in the first so developers are still trying to complete their games. That and I think SONY really needs to do something about game exclusives. For the next month and a bit I don't see how the PS3 can even compete with the 360. For example we have:

Bioshock
Blue Dragon
Halo 3
Eternal Sonata

all coming out withing the next 1.5 months and only really Lair and Heavenly Sword for the PS3. And I just downloaded the Bioshock demo last night and let me tell you, that game is absolutely amazing. If the rumors are true that the PS3 is having problems with the Unreal 3 engine with regards to memory usage then the PS3 is in a world of pain.

I'm sure things will turn around for the PS3 come October/November when games like Ratchet and Clank and Drakes come out, however. Those are some really solid first party titles.

I have had Live since close to it conception. Now have a PS3 and see the difference but the PS3 stuff just reminds what it was like the irst year after the 360 came out. The live board was pretty bland and hard to manuever they changed it over TIME. I am sure things will change with the Playstation store ( I would get rid of the store in the name, associated with spending money) in the next year or so. As for demos the 360 first year was rotten for demos waited all the time and then near the next xmas a lot started to roll out. give it time or stick with Live.

Oh, and I am playing my PS3 now becuase I am waiting for my seond coffin to ariive to take my 360 back and have it fixed. If this keeps happening I can tell you which I will play more. I do't see 20 threads on the PS3 side talking about how they are sending back their units for warranty repair like I do on the Xbox section.

Good post. Everyone is living in the now and are so quick to forget Live's past. PSN hasn't been that bad considering its only been up for 9 months.

I am jealous that you xbot clowns got the Bioshock demo last night. Looks amazing.

For crying out loud, I'm a vocal critic of some of the things Sony does, as well as Microsoft, but this infantile name calling is just going overboard. This is AVS, not some forum on IGN. Please, lets leave that crap back there and discuss things like mature adults here.

To bad Sony doesn't try to swing back with a killzone 2 demo. I am really amped for this one.

Oh yeah, and the bioshock demo was very good.

Live has been out 5-6 years? Psn isn't even one year old yet. Give it some time....Rome wasn't built in a day, neither was Live, nor will Psn.

Read the ENTIRE thread before spewing judgemental nonsense. I said I'm jealous that the xbot clowns got the bioshock demo. As far as the "...." and the blatant quotes out of context, your guess is as good as mine.

And I'm sick of being mature. I spend all day playing that role babysitting 40 employees. I'm older than most, play videogames, and talk a little trash here and there. If the poseurs that flood these forums can't handle it, report me.

That is the "quote" button, it DID cut and paste your text, I typed none of that. Just as I cut and paste this insult to other console owners which is another violation of the terms.

Reported this one as well.
