So I think I am finally going to pick up a guitar game when they come out this fall. I have never played any of them however lots of people I know rave about em so I figure its high time I pick one up. If you could only choose one which one would you pick up and why?

Rock Band for me.

Having 4 player co-op will make this a fun party game.

Only problem I could forsee with rockband, is too many people wanting to play only guitar and no one on the mic/drums

Rock Band package deal (199 for the game, mic, drums, guitar) first. Then I'll purchase the GH3 game only and just use the rock band guitar for both.

I like the songs better on Rock Band, so though I am buying both, I would choose Rock Band. BTW, I am buying game only for both and using my GH2 guitar.

Cannot pass up the drums. I played drums and trombone in HS and I am pretty sure there will never be a tombone video game so drums it is!

Rock Band. Adding the drum, mic, and soloing buttons on the guitars is a big step up from the Guitar Hero formula. That said, I'll still be picking up Guitar Hero III...

I'm picking up both, hopefully the guitars are compatible with both as I would prefer to use the fender guitars from rock band.

Since these will be bluetooth, I hope they don't exhibit the signal drop like the SIXAXIS' tend to do. Does anyone else have this concern or is it just me?

Rock Band, full bundle, because I need more cowbell. Plus it will be pretty hilarious playing multiplayer with my wife and having one of us try to sing.

I'm picking up both but Rockband with the drums is going to be a 'must have' for me.

What signal drops?

GHIII based on playlist alone and my number of friends..lol

I don't care about possible DLC in the future, so far all DLC named for Rock Band I have no interest in.

There is an issue with the SIXASIS and/or PS3 intermitantly dropping the signal. Some people refer to this as the controller "wigging out." I am concerned that the guitars will do the same thing.

More Cow Bell (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=71770844627024590)

A bit long, but worth it. Will Ferell doing what he does best.

We can only dream of a "cowbell" controller for the PS3

Rock Band, please let the guitar work on the PS2 Guitar Hero games.

GHIII

I like the set list. $199 is too much to spend right now, and I avoid buying anything that EA publishes... :p

it's not 199 flat you can just buy the game any of the perpherials seperately(or just use another guitar controller).

It's called the drums. I'm sure a pad will be assigned cowbell if the song calls for it.

I'm getting both, a friend and I are going half-way on Rock Band, so I can drum and sing and he can play guitar, and I also plan on picking up GHIII, if for no other reason than to try my hand at Through the Fire and Flames.

The Best Buy description for the game said the mic was used for cowbell.

It will be. The mic will be used for tamborine or cow bell, depending on the song. They say that the singer will like tap the mic in their hand during breaks in the vocals to do so.

currently leaning to GHIII. RB looks interesting, but could be a bit expensive for my tastes.

And heres to hoping the guitars from one game work with the other, though I kinda doubt it.

Gonna be tough to play the cowbell and sing the song at the same time if the mic is the cowbell but hey, I'm game.
