So I just moved into my brand new loft last night. Of course the night before I went to best buy to get a new HDTV as my 32 LCD Viewsonic was not going to cut it. I went in researched with the intention of buying the 60a2020. The reason being is that my living room is a shared space with the kitchen. The total room is 20ft x 18 ft with 9 ft windows along the 18 ft wall. Anyhow the way the room is laid out I would prefer not dividing up the room by floating a small couch 7ft to 10ft from the TV. At full length, with the BDI TV stand and leather sectional I have picked out, viewing distance will be roughly 14ft.

Now here's the question, last night I went in to Best Buy planning to buy the Sony 60a2020, mainly because it was the most reasonably priced a 60inch screen, good quality image. I was/am very concerned about the 14ft viewing distance. Anyway, I walked out with a Pioneer 5080HD because the picture quality is just wicked, but am having second thoughts. If I am 14ft away should I switch to the Sony 60a2020? or should I stick with the better image quality and try a 50inch plasma at 14 ft? I am a gamer, but also watch a lot of sports (Go Bears!).

5080HD is a great set. If you can do it take advantage of the 6070HD or go up to the 6010FD :)

Roman, have you watched the 6010FD? How does its PQ compare with that of the 5080?

I wish I have but to be honest with you not yet (too many pre-orders). From what I can tell people are stating that they look great. More and more people are getting them delivered so we will get more updates this week.
