Ok, so I've finally got a cablecard television (JCV 61FN).
I run basic cable to my home for exactly two reasons.
(a) to power the analog portion of my MCE box.
(b) to order the occasional PPV event (fights, mostly).
Cox's website is intentionally vague on cablecard features. While I understand the service is (currently) unidirectional, I see references elsewhere that one is (or should be) still able to order PPV events by phone and/or internet. I'd like to reduce my "rental" from them to the $2/mo they charge for cablecards -- especially since I'm mostly just getting the cable provided by my internet access anyway.
Obviously this won't (yet) be an option for my MCE machine, but it gets one clunky box out of my living room that only exists there for 3-4 PPV events a year.
I know it's possible from other providers in other regions (or so say some sites I've head), but is there anyone on Cox (especially in Phoenix) who (a) has a cablecard, and (b) can confirm or deny if they can call Cox on the phone and order PPV events?
My apologies if this is covered, but searches and searches (internally and through Google yeilded nothing).
