I'm partially finished installing my living room FP system but have run into time and install difficulty finishing the project. I decided to make things easier and have a local ISF/Cedia certified installer finish off the install. The attic space and location of the room have been difficult because of the pitch of the roof, minimal space, weight/size of the screen and tons of blown insulation. Also, electrical will be required. The installers say it will be a challenge but will finish the job in a day or two. The following will be done:

1. Mount , and wire up a 119" Dalite HP Contour Electrol (IR & wall switch)

2. Mount projector, run HDMI cable I've provided them, and install a surge protected plug.

3.Run surround and rear channel speaker cables (total of 4)

The quote is $1350. I'm providing all cables and equipment other than surge protection and speaker cable for surrounds.

If that includes electrical (permit/inspection), then I'd say that is reasonable. Keep in mind, labor rates do vary widely from place to place in the country depending on insurance for the state.

As for the electrical to the projector, check out the Panamax Max In-wall. Allows you to plug your projector into your power center with your equipment for protection and is totally code compliant. I use them in all my projector installs.

I also ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS run conduit from my equipment cabinet to the projector for the wiring runs. I normally run Carlon 1 1/2" or 2" Resigard. Pain in the butt to put in because it is big, but in 5 years when they've come out with a new HDMI connector and you get a new projector, you are going to be VERY glad you put it in or suffer crawling thru an attic again. :(
