I have a Polaroid DRA-01601A hooked to a regular old TV. I have my cable box going to the DVR (it's digital but to see the premium channels, I have to use the box) via coax. The DVR is then looping out to the TV IN via coax.

My DVR output goes from the RCA jack outputs to the inputs on the TV set, meaning I watch my DVR via VIDEO (not Channel 3). Everything is groovy, except when I watch TV, my closed caption works fine. If I watch WHILE I am recording, my CC shows up. HOwever, when I play something that I have recorded, I get no CC.

I went through the setup and turned on ATV CC. Do I need to do something with digital CC? I have ENGLISH or ORIGINAL on all the languages, but even if I messed up the language, I'd see words, they just wouldn't mean so much, right? I'm an old guy, really hard of hearing, and I'd like to be able to watch what I record without the neighbors (¼ mile down the road) yelling, "TURN THAT DOWN!".

Any help would be great. I think if I could get the DVR to play out of the ATV instead of the composite video, I'd have it made. Or I didn't do a step. I used to set up radar on F14 Tomcats for a living, and a DVR is kicking my butt pretty good!
