I've had it with this Motorola H350 garbage.

What is the "money is no object" best headset?

And, what is the "best bang for the buck" headset?

And do any of them let you reconnect IN GAME if they disconnect?

Thanks!

I have the Motorola 700 and it works extremely well. I'm sure not the most convincing post since you have the 350, but the 700 is great. Reconnects if disconnected in game, pairs whenever it is turned on, clear signal and no crackle.

I have the Jabra BT125 which is full Bluetooth 2.0 speed, which is the one Sony will include as the pack-in with Warhawk. You figure they must know something.

Do people not read or search anymore? Same topic - new week. The H350 hit the fan with the 1.6 update (for some, not all PS3's - sounds odd I know but do the research). The H350 is great headset - just not with the PS3 anymore I'm afraid. I'm surprised you lasted this long. As a result, for you with the H350/PS3 error - I would recommend a Jabra or Plantronics and steer clear of all Motorolas.

I myself have been using the Voyager 510 (post H350), that is to say until the future update that screws this one up too. I'm not buying the whole BT 2.0 thing just yet (the H350 is 2.0 too). My 1.2 headset is running just fine. I suspect Sony went with the BT125 not only because it was BT 2.0 but also because it's one of the cheapest headsets out there, and it does work well with the PS3.

Apparently Sony was doing some work with the BT antenna in the 80GB to hopefully fix some of these issues - or at least that is what the rumor mill put forth.

A firmware update now gives you the option to reconnect a headset without having to resync. Saves a lot of headaches.

I have the HBH-610a made by Sony Ericsson and I've had no problems with it at all. There is one other cool feature with it, it has a built in DSP (digital signal processing) function that makes the audio a little cleaner and easier to hear by creating less echo and blocking background noise. It never disconnects on me unless the battery is low and I have never had to register the device with the PS3 except the day I bought it. I haven't ever timed how long the battery lasts by I can do a couple days or more with a few hours each day before having to recharge it again.

This was sent to me by Glum here at AVS - another victim of the H350 fiasco.

Maybe I should have said - "work on BT antenna, but we can only speculate that it is to help these issues."

My Jabra 250 has been flawless. I've gotten 10 hours on a single charge too.

If it ever disconnects, you just press the call button and it comes back a second later.

Jabra BT8010

Works great and supports stereo BT as well if your phone doubles as an mp3 player.

I also have the Moto H820 that seems to work ok. The battery life sucks though. The Jabra blows it away in that department.

I've been dropped in Rainbow6 and both reconnected fine.

My Samsung WEP 200 has been flawless so far. I've used it for hundreds of matches in Resistance without a single hitch. Nice and small as well!

I have Plantronics Voyager 510 and I like it so much I purchased two! A single charge will last 9 hours and others say I sound crystal clear, no echo on phone or ps3. It will automatically be detected by ps3 after initial pairing . I love it. :p

Not all Motorola's are problematic. My H3 has worked flawlessly since I got it. I know Dogdoctor had one, and I can't remember if he had it working or not - but he did return it because he said it felt uncomfortable in/on his ear. Personally I think it feels all right. It works, though, so that's what's most important to me.

All the press events that sony put on over the last year, they have provided the logitech traveler as their BT headset. If you want any promo videos from GDC or TGS they are using that logitech one. I was planning on getting that off ebay here in a bit since my H350 disappeared. I was also thinking about getting the jabra because its packed in with warhawk. for 20 bucks it cant be that bad.

Jabra bt150

Works great. No disconnects.

Does not have a mute, as far as I know, which would be nice.

Bought it for $18 on sale at CompUSA a couple of weeks ago.

Nope the H3 crashed on my PS3 too. Thats why I said:

Anyone use the Jawbone?
Yes. I do.

It works great... people say the quality sound excellent. I have no issues with it other than in both Ubisoft's Splinter Cell: DA and Rainbow Six, I'll occasionally have to hit the button when returning to a lobby to reset it... but it works flawlessly on every other game.

I use the Cardo Scala-700 . 10 hours talk time on a 4 hour charge, light, comfortable AND it has a multi-device feature.

(I can be using it on my PS3, get a call on my cell phone, double click the button and blam i am now connected to my phone. End the call, double click again and blam, back onto the PS3).

How much can the piece you put behind your ear rotate? Does it rotate in 360 degrees?

I have 2 headsets.

* Jabra BT125 (for the PS3) - worked great when I tried it out on Motorstorm. Haven't really played that game much, and therefore haven't had to use the headset in awhile. Wasn't getting the chat directed to my headset, though. Didn't really play around with the settings.

* Jabra BT350 (for my cell) - have yet to test this on the PS3. I had read some place that there was some issues with this and the PS3.

I'd like to find a good BT headset that has a boom mic, but have yet to come across one. I may have to give my BT125 up soon, as my fiance has finally upgraded her decrepit cell phone.

If I recall, yes. However, I don't like how it fits on my ear. I find the BT350 has a much better earpiece than the BT125. If that matters, I would suggest the BT350. But, I believe the BT350 costs more.

*Shrug* Got the BT125 for $7+tax from CompUSA when they closed their stores in Washington state, and got the BT350 for free as a gift from a friend.

Ahh, so you're the one that beat me to CompUSA and snagged my headset  You can get the BT125 for $25 from Buy.com if you're not a thief like shooky. ;) I use it all the time with RB6 and it's super light, fits well, and works great.

Hell yeah, I did!

They didn't even have one of them out on display. The guy had to go crawling around for it in the under the display cases.

'twas awesome, indeed.

Looking at replacing my crappy Moto BT headset with Warhawk coming out (going to be downloading, so the package deal won't be for me).

But my biggest gripe with all the BT headsets I've looked at is that they don't have easy access to a mute button. And trust me, for those of you who will be playing with me online...you'll want me to have a mute button seeing that my house can get not-so-quiet at times. I was almost set on the Plantronics 510, until I read that it's mute/power button is hard to reach and was "useless" according to one reviewer. One of my favorite things about the 360 mic, and the reason I'll never go to a 3rd party design, is that the mute button is a switch that is right on the controller allowing me to flip it back and forth with my thumb never taking my hands off the controller. Of course the horrendous design of the sixaxis (in my opinion) pretty much makes this an impossibility.

So can anyone recommend a good bluetooth headset with an easily accessible mute button...or better yet, mute switch?

Thanks.

A usb headset. I've used a Cardo Scala 600/X2/Plantronics 655 DSP. And none them work for all the games online. So I went to Walmart and found the ps2 headset for 10 on clearance. Works Perfect ever time.

Jabra Bt125 works great for me. If I hit the power/mute button it mutes..hit it again and I am back to talking. You might want to reconsider getting the packaged Warhawk?

hmmm...any chance (around 0.003% I'd say) that you can plug that directly into the USB port on the sixaxis?

Stangs55 - I must say that I hate the mute/power button on the 510 headset. It is small but you get used to it. I have decided on an unorthodox way of muting the headset because if you hit the power button too hard you turn off the headset rather than muting it, so instead I just hit the call button. It end the "call" and disconnects from the audio part of the game, but as soon as you hit the call button again - 3 seconds later you hear it synch right back up. The call button is right over the ear piece and very easy to find/use. The only issue that I have is that in Resistance it creates a 1-3 second pause in the game when synching back up this way (so I try to get out of site if I know I'm about to turn it back on).

Overall very pleased with this mic.

Edit: I play with tingham all the time and his BT125 sounds great (one he got his router configured properly) and he is right - it's coming prepacked with Warhawk. It's a good, cheap BT headset for those that need one.

I would love to get a wired connection running from my controller to a headset. I do not believe the SIXAXES has the hardware it needs to make this happen. I would buy it if someone would release an adapter to make it work. I am wanting to go with the downloaded Warhawk to remove the need to have the disk in the drive. A wired USB connection should give me the most reliable connection.

Given I missed the Comp USA sales it looks like I am going with the retail box.

I got the Motorola H700. Works great, even after I washed it and dried it like it was a pair of socks. I can cut it off during "Telemundo" games, and turn it back on and go for the next game. I think it cost me like $17.

I haven't tried. I wonder if I had a adapter would it work?
