Hey guys,

I just sent my 2 UTVs to ccs for repair - one bad card socket been sitting in the closet for a year, and one tuner failure (my first since owning UTVs). Since they'll be off-satellite for a week or more (2?), I'm going to want to call DirecTV to have them blast out the signal to re-enable all the equipment. I seem to recall that this can be done very quickly by telling their phone-answering-computer the correct keyword (or perhaps code number?), but I can't locate this information.

Can anyone help?

Also, can this be done online?

thanks!

If CCS is just fixing the access card reader (something I did myself after pulling all the card contacts out... took some time with a jeweler's screwdriver and a stiff back... but it is doable. Just takes a little wrist action to angle the access card in... one reason it doesn't get removed often on that UTV.) AND they are just replacing/repairing the tuners on the other one... They should not NEED to mess with your access card or hard drive. (I don't think CCS wants/needs your access card so you don't need to send it along)

So when you get the UTVs back they should be "ready" right out of the box. Just plug them in and install the access card.

IF you do want to "refresh services" (Maybe your locals aren't showing up right away) you can do that in your Online Account under troubleshooting... Just pick the receiver you want to refresh (or all of them) and you should be up and running again in 5 seconds (unless there are system delays).

There is probably an automated phone option that does the same thing... but it's been a few years since I've tried that... try at your own risk. You might get lost in that maze.

For the phone in code use 722.

I believe this is the thread you remember reading about this.

Thanks guys!

The 722 thread is _exactly_ the thread I was remembering! Also, I'm glad to know I can do this online.

Thanks again.

If you replace a UTV, and do the refresh, how do they know the new serial number?

Does that really matter?

I see where I can change what they consider the "location" of my UTVs but nothing else.
