Hi all,

I need some advice from the experts here on my proposed HT (house is new construction) which is going to be my family room. Attached is a drawing of the best 7.1 setup I could hope for as well as the WAF. Speakers are mixed as seen in the legend on my drawing and is based on the limitations of the room. Any suggestions/help to get the best sound are appreciated and needed quickly as I am going to be starting the wiring this week.

Update: I included a pic from the model to show what my family room will look like. I am looking for best speaker placement i.e. how far off the walls for the surrounds and location for the rears. Sub is more or less in the vicinty labeled in the drawing...

Are the speakers ceiling/wall mounted or freestanding? If free-standing you can get nice floor boxes that are code compliant. I used some nice brass finish ones for my hardwood floor. Also, many commercial conference rooms use those types of outlets that can be closed when not in use.

Floor standing cannot work for the fronts due to the bookcases and the center due to the fireplace. The WaF doesn't want floorstanding for the others but is ok with the SVS sub based on the cabinet look. The surrounds and rears are ceiling mounted bi-polar speakers, the fronts are bookshelf and the center is a 4-driver, 3-way center channel wall mounted. See below links....
