searched and couldn't find anything posted.

I have a QAM tuner on one tv and do not currently subscribe to TWC digital service. They do provide the local stations digitally with standard service--that's ok but I'd like more. I hate the idea of paying $70 for tv! I would have gotten digital service by now if they didn't want to make me rent a box. Those $7-8 a month add up. Also charging the same for HD channels when I would ony get like 2 more that I get now--for free!

Anyway, they are having a promo and looking at the details seems they add on extra fees for each tv. Well, if I got digital service on the nonQAM tv would that let my QAM tv pick up the digital channels in the other room w/out spending the extra ~$20 or so?

I hope this makes sense.

thanks

It works that way on my cable system, which does not scramble the signal. As long as I subscribe to the channels, a TV with a digital tuner can get them. If your provider scrambles, you'll need their box to unscramble.

Without the box the channel numbers tend to be a bit odd and don't align to your local listings. Digital channel 300 for instance might be found on your TV at channel 82.3 or some such. You would need to create a cross reference from one to the other.

Of course you'll also lose the channel guide feature, which I find one of the better features of digital cable. If you currently subscribe to TV guide, you can drop it and put the savings towards the rental of the cable box.
