Hello,

I recently bought a Sony 52" XBR2 HDTV and it arrived yesterday to my doorstep. As my home theater system, I have a Panasonic HT-730 that I bought two years ago.

Before the Sony 52" XBR2 HDTV, I had a Sony 27" Tube. It worked well with my Panasonic HT-730 HT system. Any device I use it for, whether it be the DVD player, Xbox 360 and the original xbox, the HT-730 would play sound for it regardless if the volume of the Sony 27" Tube had volume all the way down or if it was on mute.

When I got my Sony 52" XBR2 HDTV, the HT-730 only plays sounds (regardless of device) when the volume of the Sony 52" is turned up or down. The HT-730 seems to naturally play sound only when I turn on the volume. Does anyone have any ideas?

Nothing has been changed at all, only the TV, so I don't understand why it wouldn't work the same? Thank you guys in advance!

Is the your HT-730 the same as the SAHT730, DVD Home Theater, listed on the panasonic site?

Also could you clarify a bit? Are you are saying that all audio is controlled by the volume control on the TV?

What exactly is connected to the TV and by what sort of connection (stereo audio, component, digital audio) and what is connected to the 730 and how?
