I currently have a Mits 65831 DLP that has a couple issues....first it was the air flow problem. Now the blooming issue has started. The only fix that Mits has come up with is to replace the whole light engine.

I've had my tv calibrated by Jeff (UMR). Replacing the light engine will basically make my calibration useless, correct? If after the replacement is done...I put in the calibrated settings as they are now, they aren't going to be correct right? Will they at least get me close to 6500?

I've heard opinions from both sides saying that I need it to be recalibrated and some saying that I don't.

Please explain
Thx

Greetings

Everything affects everything. You likely need it to be retweaked ... sort of like swapping out DVD players or other parts of the original signal chain.

Considering the manufacturing tolerance of all the components that go into making each tv ... even two units off the assembly line won't work with the same settings. Unless for some reason all the components were military spec ... then maybe it would work.
