Are you able to set your crossover knob to 90hz? 90hz is labeled on the knob and is listed on the website but the knob won't turn past 80hz.

Beaker1024 08-16-07, 04:58 PM Well not sure if I can help you out but I have a VTF-2 (original) and all I can remember about the crossover is I set it to max and have the AVR receiver settings dictate the crossover freq. Really sorry I couldn't help but I stopped by and had to leave a note to a fellow "old" school HSU VTF owner. I'm still amazed by my 100Watt 10" original VTF-2. Although I do take a longing look once in a while at the newer ones (just for lower extension). I should break that habbit. :) lanion 08-16-07, 05:11 PM Your receiver does not have bass management? I would turn your subs crossover to 'bypass', set your receiver to cross over at 90hz or 100hz, or whatever it allows. If this doesn't really describe your system then I'd check in on the hsu forums. Beaker1024 08-17-07, 09:35 AM lanion - That's exactly how I have mine setup. Crossover cranked to max. Switch at bypass (I crank the crossover high just encase). For my setup with my fronts/center I have the AVR set at 80hz but I have large sized (well set as Small on receiver) floor standers. Actualy was looking into thinner floorstanders but they only go down at ~90ish and I don't want to have to set the LFE/sub crossover on the reciever to 100hz (well I don't want anything higher than 80hz as I sit very close to the sub). So I'm stuck with my big space inefficent floor standers. So Binister - Anything more about your VTF-1 and how you're getting along with it's setup? BTW I have found HSU's forum useful in the past, it should be worth a good look. binister 08-17-07, 12:07 PM lanion - That's exactly how I have mine setup. Crossover cranked to max. BTW I have found HSU's forum useful in the past, it should be worth a good look. I am doing the same. My sub's xover is set to bypass and I am managing bass via my receiver (cut off set to 80Hz). I only ask because when I tried to crank the knob on the sub all the way up it would only go to 80Hz even though 90Hz is labeled. It doesn't make any functional difference, I just was curious. |
