So while I was remodeling my family room, I ran a few video cables in the wall. I also bought these wall plates (http://www2.dvigear.com/hdcoviwapl.html)

The plates say they are single gang so I put them in a single gang box, along with the component and hdmi cables that I ran. The problem is the plate has an 4" extended length of hdmi cable. This has made the box very crammed and the only way I can get it closed results in the extension cable being severely bent.

My question is, how bad is it to have a sharp bend in and HDMI cable?

Since HDMI carries signals in the +100 MHz range I wouldn't recommend bending it more than 45 degrees.

About 90 Degrees. To the eye I don't see any physical damage.

The main problem is, I can't even test it to see if it is working because I don't currently have a display that has HDMI, but I will be getting one shortly, once the remodeling is all done.

Something I've been thought thru the years been in the Electrical Engineer field. This is to avoid frequency reflection which could cause interference.
