I'm replacing my old Yamaha SW-90 subwoofer with a JBL Venue Series SUB12, is this a good Sub Woofer ? It's the only subwoofer that fits my budget, I heard it at the store and it sounded really good.

Any recommendation will be appreciated !

I'm sure most here will tell you not to get it just because it's a JBL even though they've probably never heard it, but I had the Venue Sub-10 and also agreed that it sounded cleaner than the Klipsch and Yammy subs it was next to. I was very satisfied with it for tunes; it was very musical sounding and articulate. The disappointing part was when I ran some sine wave tests and found that it didnt go quite as low as the specs claim (can't remember what they were). I didnt like it for HT so I sold it and got a HSU. But for music I think you'll be very pleased. If you've never had a sub that goes even to 27hz, you could think it sounds awesome for movies too and decide to keep it.
As always, experiement with placement in your room and see if you can get the same results.

I have this kind of sub and I am recommending it. Perfect for a small to medium size room. my HT room size right now is 11'x14'. ;)

I tried the Bose sub before but the JBL sub 12 has a greater bass compared to the Bose acoustimass.
