I have a Toshiba RD XS32 that will not turn back on after I turn it off. The green LED will come back on and it sounds like it is coming back on, but I get a blank screen on the TV. The unit will eventually turn back off - red LED comands back from green.

Has anyone seen this or know how to remedy the situation?

Thanks,
Jeff

What shows in the front panel as it boots? Do you ever get the Blue Lights of the HDD selection? How long before it turns off? Can you get any content to show when pressing the content menu button?...or does it not respond to any commands remote or front panel?

I get zip. Nothing. The red LED turns green and after about a minute, the LED turns red again.

I called Toshiba and they have no combination of buttons to press to get it to come back on. They offer a $139 flat fee repair but it will be more if the problem is the hard drive.

In my experience if there is a problem with either of the drives you will get an error code or message at least on the front display. Your problem doesn't even allow for that apparently. Leads me to believe it is most likely a power supply problem alone. If you are comfortable doing so, pop the top and check all of the cables for connection. I think the XS32 has a hard wired fuse on the board near the power supply. Check to see if it is intact.

What's it plugged into...just the wall or a UPS?

Have you pulled the plug and left it unplugged for a time...say, overnight?

During the minute or so before the unit switches back to off, try holding down the power button for 10-15 secs until the unit shuts down. This will effect a reset. Then pull the rear plug if you can and then reinsert. Try powering up again.
