Hey folks,

Do any of you know what type of source is used by DTV or DishNetwork when broadcasting movies in Hi-Def?

For example, today I watched Aliens, this is not available as HD DVD or Blu-Ray. So with that said, what are the networks using as a source to broadcast these movies in High Definition?

They do a film transfer from the original 35mm to a professional digital HD format.

HD DVD & Blu-ray, just as DVD, are consumer formats, and not used for professional applications.

Features are usually mastered to professional formats like HDCAM SR and D5.
