Can anyone comment on the quality of the equivalent stations on HD offered by both DTV and E*. Specifically, channels like HBO and ShowTime.

Is the quality of the two virtually the same?

I am asking because I am unsure of the changes that have recently been made. For example resolution and bit rates that are currently in place along with moving from MPEG2 to MPEG4.

You may as well wait until D* gets all their new HD up, in the next month or so, and see what the consensus is on image quality.

For now, there is not a great deal of difference between the two providers.

I have seen plenty of DirecTV HD and Dish HD and don't see any difference whatsoever.
