This might be a good link to keep around if you want some forward visibility about which OTA (?) DTV channels you might have for which stations post-Feb-2009. (Or if you can't sleep!:))
See latest tables here:Appendix B and Appendix G under "2007" and "8/6/07". (http://www.fcc.gov/dtv/) Apendix B is the main list, and Appendix G is additions.
That web page should be constantly updated, so it can be ref. anytime in the future.
There is a long AVS Thread on this subject HERE (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=823166), and foxeng posted this HERE (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showpost.php?p=10443923&postcount=42):
"The purpose of keeping the analog channel branding is to keep the public's confusion factor down. As you pointed out in your post, in areas like SF, many stations will be swapping channels with each other. The FCC feels the public will be too confused and since any OTA tuner will be remapped to the old analog channel, once a tuner has been scanned, it really doesn't matter since the old analog channel numbers will still be displayed."
Will we see essentially no diff. when all this shakes out, or will we have to learn new things, leaving "old dogs" in the dark???
