I'm considering upgrading my Home Theater room DVD player to an HD DVD/upconverting DVD player in the next few months and am concerned about possible audio syncing issues with my potential setup.

My projector (Marantz VP12S2) has a DVI input, but because my A/V receiver (Denon AVR-4802R) doesn't have an HDMI input, I'd have to run the HDMI-to-DVI cable directly from my HD DVD player to the projector, and an additional cable (optical/coaxial/7.1 analog) from the HD DVD player to the receiver for the sound. Will this create a problem for syncing, since the audio and video from the HD DVD player will be going to two different components?

If you notice lipsynch problems, it won't be caused by the cables.

...so you're saying it could happen? Has anyone experienced this? I've noticed a few people using HDMI-to-DVI since their TV/Projector didn't have an HDMI input...have any of you noticed audio syncing problems?

I haven't had any sync problems with my set up. I have the dvi adapter to my dlp and the audio to my preamp.
