With all these great foreign films coming out from Sony Pictures Classics ('The Lives of Others' & 'Black Book'), has there been any word regarding the blu-ray release of 'Downfall'? It's a truly great film.

Hopefully a potential BD won't have burned-in subtitles like the DVD. :(

I'm personally waiting for Sony Pictures Classics to release Run Lola Run (Lola rennt) on BD, a PCM track would absolutely stunning.

Run Lola run is scheduled for next year according to the SPHE europe site. That said I would still treat it as a rumour despite the official nature

That was so disappointing for this DVD in the US.

I wasn't aware of the DVD release having burned-in subs, that is disappointing. I was lucky enough to have caught this movie in its theatrical run and I loved it. I saw the DVD the other day for cheap and was considering returning to buy it, but I'll pass now. Here's hoping for a BD release some day.
