Jamie ericlhyman 08-20-07, 06:44 PM Which satellite is it on? Oh wait, were you asking what D* satellite its on? ericlhyman 08-22-07, 04:40 PM Yes, I was asking about the D* satellite. guffy1 08-22-07, 04:43 PM ch. 9429 on 61.5 and 129... about 1/2 the dog whisperer shows I DVR are in HD (seems they started showing this in HD around august of 2006). Oh wait, were you asking what D* satellite its on? Yes, and which gigantic load of worthless SD channels do you have to sub to in order to get NGHD on Dish? mikey mo 08-24-07, 02:28 AM Yep! I have it too! Can't wait for this to become a fulltime channel! I get it on E* and watched it once out of curiousity. I don't believe I will make it a point to go back. IMHO it is just more ot the same. tonybradley 08-24-07, 10:48 AM I finally upgraded to the HD DVR after having a standard HD box for years. I recorded the preview NGHD on D* from early this morning. All I can say is WOW!!!!!! The best looking HD I've seen. I would have to assume they are showing this channel at full res and not bit starving it, because it was phenominal looking. vurbano 08-24-07, 10:55 AM What was the bitrate? petergaryr 08-24-07, 10:58 AM I finally upgraded to the HD DVR after having a standard HD box for years. There was one a month or so ago with photography in the womb show how multiple births work. Maybe too clear. CPanther95 08-24-07, 11:03 AM Makes you grateful to be a man. nakedeye 08-24-07, 11:14 AM What was the bitrate? Dude you realy need to get a life. IAM4UK 08-24-07, 11:41 AM Dude you realy need to get a life. Dude, you misspelled your handle in your sig. petergaryr 08-24-07, 11:49 AM Makes you grateful to be a man. The shots of the birthing of the twins was bad enough...but the quads... However, staying on topic...sort of....the PQ was good enough to show the eyelashes of the kids in the womb. I haven't seen that fine a detail in a while, except maybe for some Discovery HD and HDNet shows. If they can keep this PQ up when the bird goes live, it is going to be a very exciting Fall. guffy1 08-24-07, 12:03 PM I thought I had read a bunch of previous posts saying how horrible the HD PQ was for the NGHD previews? I personally believe the HD PQ is going to be very good when the new HD channels go live (Based on MPEG-4 LIL reports). Its the current MPEG-2's that concern me though. Those are the core channels that I would still watch the most if I was to resub to D*. ukycats 08-24-07, 12:21 PM I thought I had read a bunch of previous posts saying how horrible the HD PQ was for the NGHD previews? The PQ was "surprisingly" good. abricko 08-24-07, 03:25 PM *The best looking HD I've ever seen* You know that channel is broadcast (at source) 720P, if that's the best you've ever seen than you must way to used to D*'s overcompression! guffy1 08-24-07, 03:34 PM Aren't those going to be migrated over to MPEG-4 also? From what Ive read they will be migrated to MPEG-4 eventually.. From what Ive been able to gather its not something thats going to happen right away though.. If anyone knows any different I would love to hear about it. guffy1 08-24-07, 03:36 PM *The best looking HD I've ever seen* You know that channel is broadcast (at source) 720P, if that's the best you've ever seen than you must way to used to D*'s overcompression! Theres nothing wrong with 720p if thats what youre inferring.. 720p can look every bit as good as 1080i when done properly. No ifs, ands, or buts about it... richiephx 08-24-07, 08:40 PM Dude you realy need to get a life. Why was it necessary to make a negative statement like you did? The poster asked a very simple question and deserves a simple answer. Your response adds nothing to this thread other than to incite the questioner. spinnergy 08-24-07, 09:02 PM Looks great, is it MPEG4? nakedeye 08-24-07, 09:20 PM Dude, you misspelled your handle in your sig. Because once you've been around here as long as I have, you tend to know what Vurbano is up to, and it GETS OLD AFTER 5 YEARS OF BITCHING. His question was purely facetious and served no purpose. He knows it as well as most others here. richiephx 08-25-07, 12:01 AM Because once you've been around here as long as I have, you tend to know what Vurbano is up to, and it GETS OLD AFTER 5 YEARS OF BITCHING.
