Hello all,

I've read a lot about how to get recorded content off of my DVR and onto my Mac's drive. I can do that with no problem, for the most part.

This has gotten me thinking about the possibilities of using my DCT6412 as a pass-through device to digitize some old VHS tapes I have of family functions, vacations, etc. Has anyone tried this? Right now the only way I can digitize my old tapes is to export them to miniDV via my camcorder (which doesn't have pass-through functionality) and then export to my Mac, a 2X realtime process.

So, I'm wondering if there is a way to connect my VCR, DVR, and computer so that I can play a VHS tape and use the DVR's firewire connection to digitize the feed and pass it through to the computer? Has anyone tried this? I know there are separate boxes that will do analog-to-digital conversion, but I am cheap and don't want to spend the money for the equivalent of a few hours worth of footage. I am using Apple Firewire SDK 23 software, by the way.

Thanks.
