I tried to do the clm upgrade with the parts Mike parker gave me. here is the post he had awhile back,

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showpost.php?p=10930587&postcount=8

My board is not the same so i just changed C1, C2 and added the 270k inductors to pin 27 an 28.I just heated the pins and pulled them back and added the inductors from pin to board one inductor per pin. I also changed only one tant c145, then I plugged the board in and turned on the pj after a minute i heard a pop and pulled the plug. removed the board and inspected the caps. C2 top was pushed up ,so i think this cap was the one that popped. Are they suppose to go in a certain way .ie do they have + and - also the same for the tants? I looked at the other caps on the board and noticed a + on the board next to the caps so i reversed the second cap i put in. This time no pop but i got no pick and the remote would not shut off the PJ. so i thought maybe the inductors wer not put in right so i removed them and put the board back to how it was except i left the C1,C2 caps and the C145 tant in, put the board back in and the same, no image and not shut off of the projector. what do you think i did wrong?

I destroued the original tant and one of the original caps so i cant go back to normal.

Also i did have this PJ calibrated by a pro, so have i lost all my calibration settings if i use another CLM i have? or are they stored on one of the chips?

Hello

Most settings are stored on the CLM except color temp, serial number and a few other things are on a chip on the backplane. Your settings might be lost if battery power on the CLM got interrupted when you modded.

So if color temp is on my back plane then I should be ok? Can the board be fixed if sent to either you or curt? I put another CLM i have from my parts machine and after i reconverged everything it the colors still look good but one thing i noticed is with this CLM(newer issue) the focus seems to be a little better when i went into the individual focus setting for each color I left the blue as is,Didnt want to mess up the purpousefull defocus of the callibration, but tightend up the red and green.

Thanks for the info Tim

Hello

Tantalum caps do have + and - sides that must be observed; I am not equipped to fix those, maybe Mike Parker.
