I support both formats but I am glad this happened. HD DVD is a wonderful format and deserves to thrive. I'm still so blown away by this announcement. I truly thought it would end up being the other way around. This really has made things interesting. It will be a BOURNE/TRANSFORMERS vs. SPIDERMAN/PIRATES war this Fall/Winter.

shhhhh
I did not tell you this.
Transformers is NOT a Speilberg film. It is a Michael Bay film.
Director != executive producer ;)
meaning
if Director != Speilberg, HD DVD
If Director == Spielberg, then he calls where it goes.

Does anyone know how to contact Paramount? I would like to send them an e-mail to congratulate them on a wise decision. I think I will also have to go and now order The Untouchables and Trading Places from Amazon...........!

You know something, all of this reminds me of watching the movie Pearl Harbor after Pearl Harbor was bombed. One of the Japanese generals was quoted as saying something to the effect "I fear we may have awaken the giant" or something like that. Now with the Fox schedule release announcement fast-tracked, it kind of seems that way at least.
In the end, this whole hidef scenario is a tennis match with us as the pawns. One camp goes ahead and certain things are put into effect by the powers that be to make sure that things even up and the "war" drags on until none are left.
Hmmm, I wonder who it is that does not want either format around?
M****soft???????????
