Just out of curiosity, when does the contract Disney have with BR expire and whats the chance they will go neutral at that point?

I would think that Disney can do what it wants to do, and at the moment that is BD. I sure hope that their next release is more functional than PotC. Those were a great idea, but horribly slow. At least the could offer a way to turn off the extra stuff.

I would think that any contract that Disney did with BD, will end after the holiday season. However, that contract could be for actual disks produced or released.
Odds of them going neutral? Pretty good. Especially if the holiday buying season sells alot of the much cheaper HD DVD hardware. Disney hasnt really shown alot of faith in BD since its poor sales in the first 2 Pirates movies. They dont even sell BD disks in the biggest Disney store on earth (Walt Disney World). The announcement of Paramount and Dreamworks also will factor in this.

You need to check my past post history before you attack me. I am not a "fanboy" of either of the HD media formats. Ive been a member of this forum since 2003. You been here less than a year, posting only BD related things, and call me a fanboy??

The poster asked a question and I gave a honest answer of what I thought.

Please tell me if Disney is so "entrenched" in BD that they do not sell the biggest money making film they have to date, in Disney World? Just for the record Disney sells everything in Disney World. I do mean everything. Its one big store.

I did check your history. Your HD DVD biased with a strong support for combos and a lengthy post history in the media discussion section.

As for Disney, they have a history of releasing things in limited spans, and at periodic intervals. Taking their sweet time doesn't surprise me one bit. Disney has time and time again posted articles signifying their support for BD. They have websites, and soon will have a shopping mall kiosk going around the US showing off Blu-ray. Disney neutrality aint happening. So I say again. Give it up.

I will give you the advice I have given to everybody that asks me about either format. Wait till the end of January. The holiday season can sway alot of studios faith in either format. Plus the Consumer Electronics Show will have alot of announcements that may shape the format war for the coming year. Also, hardware prices will come down for the holiday season. You may save more money on media and hardware if you wait a few months. Again, regardless on what you choose. I would recommend you wait till after Xmas at the earliest.

Oh, my. I post about combos so I am a fanboy. You sir need your facts straight. I am pro combo , because it makes the most sense and is the easiest transition out of DVD. Not to mention saves the studios money on packaging and shipping. Please tell me how that makes me a fanboy? BD had a combo of its own in the works. They scrapped it, not my fault. Id still be pro combo if BD actually had one in production.
A mall kiosk and any show Disney holds hardly sees more traffic than Disney World. If its got Disneys name on it and they think they can sell it. Its at Disney World.

You must live in Florida.... Prolly play VMK too.

So please tell me. Do they sell Blu-rays at Disneyworld? And do they sell HD DVD's?

With that, I'm done with you. ;)

Oh, so funny. Another attack with no real rebuttal. If you actually read my post history, which I know you have not. You would know I live in Chicago. I just had a family trip to Disney World a few weeks ago. Like I said. They do not sell BD in Disney World. Not in one store, stand, park, shop or hotel. If you have ever been there, then you know that says alot about what products they actually want to sell. They will sell a replica King Arthor sword, but not a BD disk of any movie? Done with me? Thanks, Im getting tired of making sense and being attacked for no reason.
