Hey guys,

Just a heads up, but i was looking through Best Buy's website and browsing there HD-DVD section and i found Living Landscapes Collection, it is marked down from $149.99 to $14. Yup $14.

I figured maybe it was something cheap or something so i went ahead and bought it. Well i got it today and it seems for what ever reason that this is indeed the 9 Disc HD-DVD set that normally sells for $149. I checked Amazon.com and its the same one on there that goes for $149, im i missing something here or did i find a great deal?

Here is the Best Buy Link: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=15686526&st=living+landscapes&type=product&id=1647578

Well im about to head home but i open the case and it says that it will only play on HD-DVD Players, so im assuming it is a HD-DVD.

I will let you guys know when i get home in about an hour and a half.

Ouch

I paid 80$ for this set on amazon a few weeks ago. I'm a freak for relaxing nature HD so I did not mind the price.

All 9 discs are infinite loop discs, you pop them in and they loop till you take them out. Each disc only has 20 mins of content, so 180 mins for the entire 9 disc set.

For 15$ the set is a steal, pretty good PQ not perfect but there are some awesome 3d shots on each disc and the background music is not bad at all. Most of the time the PQ is as good or a little better than most Discovery HD programs on cable, there is little noise and artifacts here and there but it does not happen alot. These discs are MUCH better than the Discovery Atlas discs but maybe a little below the Planet Earth set in PQ.

Most people would be pissed with the set for what I paid for it $80, for 15$ most should enjoy it for what it is.

I'm happy with the set even for the 80$ I spent but I'm pretty weird about liking these nature HD discs so much.

I'm sure this is a price error.
I got one for myself to keep and one for a potential trade and/or my parents.

These are going to get canceled.

My order is already listed as backorder, which in Best Buy slang means no chance in hell you are getting it.

Maybe, but damn its fun to hope! I like screwing the system that screws me regularly!!

Maybe this really is a legit deal. I mean, BB employees make no beefs about their Blu-ray fanboyism. After all, these disks are not really high definition anyway!!

Not to mention the fact that Blu-ray has won the war. Probably just clearing out worthless merchandise. ;)

Yeah, I hope it goes through but from experience with Best Buy price errors (Panzer Dragon Orta should have been mine for $5 :() it will just be on backorder until they automatically cancel your order 90 days from now.

Hi guys, i just got home and Swanlee is right about the description, they are indeed the 9 discs you get for $149 retail, there 20 minute segments that loop and each disc is a different local. Great for when guests come over and i want to have it looping in the background.

They work great and are indeed the HD-DVDs

btw, when i bought it last week it was on Back Order but a week later it was shipped to me, so i wouldnt be worried if it is on backorder.

$15, not a bad deal at all. Also the audio is in 5.1.

FYI, I already own the Hawaii one, and I was dissapointed in the picture quality. There's macro-blocking in the dark areas of the picture all over the place. There's even digital noise/defect in one beach scene that's present on the SD DVD side in the same place as the HD-DVD side... i.e. the Source material isn't the best.

Many parts do look ok, but it almost seems like high-def was an afterthought in its production. Don't expect "Planet Earth" film quality.
