I currently have a pair of Technics SB-A50s acting as my fronts with the Onkyo 790s center, subwoofer and receiver. The surrounds keep getting taken down by my dear lady and I was wondering a couple of things.

I quite like these Technics and am wondering what I would need to purchase to find something comparable.

I'm thinking of replacing everything in stages and would like a new center to start with. What would compliment the Technics if I was to keep those? I'm noticing that it sounds fractionally better without the center at all at the moment. Would a new sub make more sense? Should I get new fronts and use the Technics as surrounds and for music?

As you can tell, I don't really have much of a clue. ;)

There does not appear to be much info out there on your Technics loudspeakers. Are you in Canada? If so, there may be not alot of knowledge on them. The only reference I found on them was for sale ads in Canada.

Is the Onkyo center, surrounds and receiver part of a HTIB system? If your subwoofer is also an Onkyo, then you might want to look into a modest subwoofer to improve your system.
