They shipped them to you JULY 23? It's been a month!!! It takes max a week and a half to get anything by mail. They must be lost.

Got mine this week. Sent them in sometime around July 21st. All the ones I selected, so I can't really complain. Great service on this deal as far as my experience is concerned.

I believe your right. However, they said that I had to wait until 8/24 to call back. I will be very surprised if I get them in the next day or so. There is a USPS employee who is enjoying my movies right now.

They now tell me that they recieved my information on 8/1 and everything is processing.

Kind of impressive, since the program didn't start until July 1st, which would mean you received your BDs sometime around October 1st in the future. :)

I bought two BDP-S301 , one for my HT and one for my brother .However, i only got 5 movies. I guess that Sony only offers free movies based on the address. This is suck because if someone may buy more than one blu-ray players in a house. I'm going to return one S301 and get something else. Not just the movie they offer, but just the policy is stink.

I am from Canada, and the number for the 5 Free Blu-ray Disc Offer in Canada is 1-877-823-0804. I sent mine in at the start of August and they said my order is approved, however atleast 1 title is on backorder, so I will have to wait for now.

Well I finally got my discs today. Everything was perfect except my copy of Species was the regular DVD version and not the Blu-Ray.

I don't even understand how this could have happened. I sent an email off to see what the deal is. Hopefully I can get the Blu Ray version with little trouble shipped to me. If I don't get a reply in a couple of days I will call the 800 number. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Well I purchased my PS3 on Wed the 12th and I checked it tonight and it list my 5 movies as processing

I have just received all my information, that I originally sent in, for the second time. Both times they said that the information was not complete. I did not have the appropriate upc code. I had included what I thought was the appropriate code from the carton in the first application. so i went back to the box and cut a new one with bar codes and that looked like it applied.
I just got back the application again with both cutouts from the box saying the same thing again. there are no more bar codes or numbers on the box except for the shipping labels.
What do I do now.
Any one have any ideas?

I opened my mail yesterday and I had a fat envelope from Sony.

Inside there was my original envelope that I had sent to them for the 5 free movie rebate. This had been slit along the top and the contents were outside of it, attached to a letter from Sony (or the rebate company...whatever) saying that since I had failed to include my original receipt, they couldn't process my rebate.

I was confused, because I had included my receipt when I first mailed it. I searched inside the envelope that I had sent, and sure enough, there at the bottom they had missed my reciept.

So I was pretty frustrated. I started to get everything together to mail back to them, and then I realize that what they had NOT returned to me was the original UPC from the box. They had kept that. So now when I mail it back to them, it's missing the UPC.

What do I do? I think I am out of luck. Good thing the movie selection on that 5 deal was so poor, it's not like I am missing out on all that much. Still very frustrating to me.

I believe Buena Vista to some extent is handling the customer support for this promotion. I don't have the contact # off hand, but you can call the phone number suggested for the Pirates replacement program (I recall hearing an option to talk about the rebate). Not cool that they missed it. If you really don't want the movies, I'd be happy to take them off your hands :D

Their customer support has been quite nice in my experience. It may be worth a try. They probably have record of your transaction so far so I am betting they could note that they already have or had your UPC.

On a side note i returned a few of my flicks yesterday to walmart, they gave me credit no issue, bought some print ink I needed as walmart had a terrible selection. Didnt have swat and species in store, but they still scanned, lol.

Went over to best buy across the street and bought superbad, blackhawk down, and training day.

Mailed in my rebate form 3 weeks ago, not expecting to see the movies until sometime next year. Came home from work today to find them sitting in the mailbox. :) I've never received a rebate so quickly.

Yeah, my movies are expected to arrive only 5 months after they received my rebate form, so they are much better...

(For whatever reason, those people on the Fall Promotion are getting much better results so it seems to vary. I believe they have a different group doing the Fall promotion so that probably explains it... Those of us stick stuck waiting from the Summer promotion are likely to see our discs, which will be different than what we ordered, around the same time as the wineter promotion that will start in January...)

Buena Vista isn't really handling customer support. The tracking website is theirs but if you call their customer service # they end up transferring you to the same lame outsourced company that is botching the fulfillment (and their CS sucks).

I sent mine in a month ago and just receieved mine yesterday. I'm very suprised it came this fast with all the holidays.

I sent mine in when the summer promotion started, around the 1st week of july. After two and a half months called because nothing showed up on the website. They told me I was not in the system and asked if I had copies. Then they gave me an address in MN to send the copies of rebate. I'm in the system (Process), but still haven't received anything yet.

They should rename the program- Wait til next summer program, or Will send them when you no longer want them program.

You might as well pick movies you might not care if you have and just buy the ones you want. It's not worth the hype. When you bought the player you weighed in the cost of the discs to justify the cost of the player. Just a rotton sales ploy.

Mine wasn't quite that fast, but I was still pleasantly surprised. Mailed my coupon in the second week of November and found the five titles I checked in my mailbox yesterday, so about six week turnaround.

My one complaint (though I have little justification for fussing at all about free movies) is that I couldn't just pick five titles from the whole list instead of one from each of five categories. I wound up with one movie I couldn't even finish (AMERICAN PSYCHO), but the other two choices in that catefory wouldn't have pleased me any better.

Guess I'll trade it in at Half-Price Books or some such. Happy with the other four discs, though, so I still feel like a winner.

As near as I can tell, they used a different company for the Fall promotion. The Summer promotion company sucks and is still screwing up rampantly and back logged months. The fall company is getting people turned around in a few weeks. So if you are in the Summer program, like me, you are screwed. Nice for the fall people. Had I known, I would have just waited a month to buy... The problem is, they are doing absolutely nothing to right this wrong.

I sent my form in less than a month ago and received them a few days ago. I think it was less than three weeks total. I got exactly what I asked for. I'm VERY impressed. I'm still waiting on my HD-DVD's and that's been about 5-6 weeks.

If you are on the Fall Promotion, you're odds ar epretty good you;ll get them 3-4 weeks after sending the form in. Yeah but Sony and Disney are the ones that hire them. When we outsource things at my company, we take ultimate responsibility for their quality and customer service. Sony sold the promotion as an incentive to buy their product, so they shouldn't get a pass if they hire a company that can't deliver on that promise.

I don't think it is coin flipping. I have noticed a consistent pattern that the Fall rebate people are getting theirs much, much faster (and they are getting the discs they actually ordered) than the people on the latter half of the summer promotion. I think there was/is a fundamental break down by Archway (the outsourced company) with the summer promotion.

I was beginning to think they had lost my order, but I just tried the url listed and it appears that it's "being processed". It's bad enough that the selection of movies was so crappy, but making me wait over 2 months is just some bad customer relations.

I got my five Blu-ray disc yesterday. They replaced my Babel selection with Happy Feet. Grrr!

Edit: I just realized Babel is a Paramount film and is no longer available on Blu.

My walmart didnt even have the titles in store. But they are fully legit retail copies, upcs, everything. And since walmart did have them online they were able to give me store credit.

So is it safe to assume that the version of FMJ would be the new updated transfer if I submit in the next week or so?

That is exactly what I am hoping. I've had my PS3 since Christmas and I am in no hurry to send off my UPC. Just in case something goes wrong with it within the first 30 days. I bought mine from Sony Style store. At least they seem to take a lot less time than the HD-DVD promo.

I received my movies yesterday. Took just 3 weeks form the time I mailed it in. Amazed they came that fast and I got the titles I asked for. Combine that with the BOGO offers and the sale they have on Amazon right now and my collection is growing faster than anticipated.

Yes. I mailed my rebates for the two formats on the same day. I received my HD DVD's yesterday and my blu-ray's shipped yesterday.

Chances are they will extend the offer, or new offers will be available. If you are only buying the player based on the free movies offered then I doubt you will be impressed with any of the movies they put on the list.

I would say dont worry about the free movies, buy the player, and buy some movies you actually want.

Call the number on page one, they pickup on the first ring and it takes all of 30 seconds to find out.

I spoked to the rep regarding the holiday blue ray promotion today and I wanted to pass along what I found to those who are waiting also.

They received my offer form on 12/10 and he said the movies were shipped on 1/30. so that is around 7 weeks of processing. He also said allow 4 weeks for shipping because they are sent USPS 3rd class. 3rd class is why the shipping takes so long.

I really want Underworld Evolution, but it's not on the current list. I bought my PS3 in Jan.

I just checked my rebate online and could not find any info, so I called the number. Was told they did recieve and qualify my rebate and that they were mailed out today. Sent mine in the end of November/ beginning of December.

My brother in law and I sent our rebates in around the first week of December. I sent mine in about 4 days before him and he got his movies about 2.5 weeks ago. I called the 800 number this afternoon to see where mine were and was told they shipped today to allow 3-4 weeks for delivery. the only ones even in the HD DVD rebate that were mangled were the ones by universal. they were the only studio doing that. being that there is no universal in blu then there isn't any mangling of disc art.

My brother received his back in December and received the remastered version. I'm assuming that they wouldn't go backwards and send the old version again.

I'm beginning to think I may not get my discs (mailed 12/13) because I bought online and not from the 'same state' as I reside in. Heck, it was directly from Sony, so I'll sell the PS3 if I don't get them.

Me too! Especically since this is my second set on my secnond player.

I sent for my five free discs on 12-8-07 and received them on 2-19-08.

The Patriot, Swordfish, Species, Pirates of the Caribbean, American Psycho. Debating on what to do with Swordfish - had the HD DVD already and the HD DVD has better audio.

I would be more than willing to, but I don't think I have that many posts. I am more of learner on AVS than anything.

Please, please, please do not reply to this if you have any intention of selling the disks when you recieve them.

I was debating whether to do this but I feel I have too, I have to put a minimum of 6 month registered period and say 50 posts, I don't want someone getting these for nothing when they do nothing for the community.

I wouldn't say no to a few $$ my way for sorting the postage, photocopy of receipt etc. The amount, I won't name a cost as that could be classed as selling these and I want to help you not make money, but if I could buy the postage items and a beer I'd be a happy man :D

Well that was the longest wait in history, sent mine in 11-1-07 and received them 2/20/08... I got POTC, American Psyco, the remastered Full Metal Jacket...and couple titles I already have in The OMEN and SWAT if anyone wants to trade me something for them :)

I delivered my application on mid-Jan 2008. After 5 weeks, it is still not appearing on their website. I called the number and they can't find in their database.

The offer titles are not my liking. I'll try to sell them at half price. One of the reason I bought PS3 was 'these disks will lower the overall cost of ownership'.

If I don't get these disks by Mid-March, I'll return my PS3. :(

said it must be postmarked by 2/29... but I don't want to

How did some of you get these discs so quickly? I sent my forms in in October 2007. Checked the website in December and saw that it processing. I didn't hear from them until early January with a postcard telling me that it was scheduled to ship on Feb 11. I just got another postcard from them telling me that it's delayed again and that their distributor does not have an anticipated delivery date (wtf) available. However, if I would like to cancel or keep the order, I need to send the postcard back. (no more negative consent, it appears)

Shoot, come on now.... and I'm reading some of you received yours already from sending their materials in December?

What's the secret? Did you slip in a $10 bill or something? :) But seriously, it's become so long that:

1. I forgot what I ordered
2. After looking at the postcard and online site - I realized that I bought one that they were supposed to send me.

Is there really a shortage of Blazing Saddles, Pearl Harbor, Underworld: Evolution, etc.? Apparently not if some of you received those titles after sending the forms in months after I did. I see them in Best Buy all the time! ;)

I sent my rebate form in mid January but it still does not show up on that status website, should I be worried, or call someone? I just got my 5 free hd dvds this week, I bought that player in mid november.

Just called them today, they said my movies were shipped out on the 28th. So i should have them this week hopefully, took them about 8 weeks to even ship mine but at least I am going to receive them finally.

I bought two different BD players: a Panny BD30 in early November and a Sony 300 at the end of Dec (I also previously had purchased a Sammy 1200 that I bought last April before they had these 5 free incentives). So, I filled out the 5 free rebates for each of the 2 players shortly after I bought them. Today, I got the 5 BD's for the Sony I bought in late Dec. I also recently rec'd a card in the mail about the order from Nov saying that the BD's were out of stock but that they expected them in around March 16 and would send then then. Very strange that I got the Dec promotion BD's way before the Nov ones.

Also, several weeks ago I called their hot line to see what was going on and the guy said that mine were "being processed". At that time, I asked about both rebates and he told me that it was limited to one offer per family so I was not expecting to get the 5 BD's that came today. It looks like I will get the original 5 BD's in March. I guess you can get more than one offer per family.

Edit: I checked the postcard they sent informing me of the delay and it turns out that the 5 titles are the ones I got last week in the mail (which were the titles I asked for for the orginal Nov. BD player purchase). It appears that I won't be getting the second set of 5 that I asked for with the Dec BD player purchase (I guess the one offer per family DOES apply). Too bad for me.

Just got off the phone with the blu-ray offer people and they told me the website to check the status of your submission is (and has been for some time) down and doesn't work. You need to call 1-800-598-9671 to check the status with a real live person. Mine just shipped 2 days ago (happy, happy) sent in 2nd week of January. Seems they are getting these out fairly quickly. I just checked on my submission from early January and the movies shipped out a few days ago on the 28th via USPS Media Mail. Could take several weeks to show up but at least they've shipped.

Can someone explain to me how they are swapping out their discs? Are you just going to Circuit City and Walmart without a receipt and telling them you bought them there and exchange them for something else?

All I did was a simple copy and paste, directly from the blu-ray disc site that had sent my discs.

Just got off the phone after having been told back on 2 Jan that mine shipped on 1 Jan. Called them after 4 weeks and said "No disc's yet, what's up?" and they say, "no it's still in processing". OK...

Call again today three weeks later, to check the status. "Your information was received on 15 Feb, no shipment date yet". And she repeated all my shipping info to me so I know it's the right one, they did that the two times before as well. I tell her I mailed it in the end of Nov, "well we're kind of backed up"...

As referenced in my post above, I also bought those same two BD players about 6 weeks apart and mailed in both rebates. I recently got the 5 BD's for the BD30 purchase in early Nov. but I was told on the phone that the offer is "one per household" so I'm not expecting to get the second 5. Unless you used a different mailing address for one of them (I didn't), I suspect that the same will happen to you (that is, assuming they can locate your submissions). However, I'm suprised they didn't mention the "one per" stipulation when you called and inquired. I wish you the best.

FYI if you visit that website (can't recall the addy right now...) the one where you put in your name and address and it supposedly checks your status and click the customer service/contact us link and send them something, all you'll get is a reply back to call the number that you already have. So you get no where at all...:confused:

Ok I'm confused by people saying that they are returning the movies they don't want to their local B&M. How are you getting these disks into the store without setting off the magnetic sensors at the entrance? Or do exit doors only have sensors? Are you taking the time to demagnetize the security strips in the cases at home? PM me if you're afraid of being seen as an unethical person :D

I frequently bring merchandise that set off the alram when entering BestBuy.
The stuff were ordered from BestBuy.com... :) The BestBuy employee
just puts on a little sticker and point me to the return counter. Once you
have the sticker on the merchandise, you can also leave with it. (assuming
that the return counter refuses to let you exchange the BD)

Just called to follow up on the discs. I made it to processing now. I'm in the system and my open box order with out (UPC) does qualify. Its a holiday purchase back in January 08. :)

sent my offer in 2nd week of january, and they were shipped out to me as of Feb 28th! Not too long of a wait. My HD-DVD promo was shipped out the same day as well. so hopefully 10 movies will be here this week sometime

Well I beat the deadline of sending the form in; the purchase date is off though. I smudged the date on the receipt as well.....I guess ill just have to find out. Either way I’m not losing anything so either way its worth a shot. :D

If you call and complain enough I bet you can get your way. My friend did that with a $50 samsung rebate. They lost all his info, he complained for a good 30 mins until they just said alright whats your address. He got it a week later.

The 5 free BD movies arrived yesterday.(March 8) They were
shipped in a large envelope and delivered by USPS. The envelope
didn't fit in my mailbox, so the mailman just left it on top of my

I received a call from Disney last week. It happens that I forgot to pick 2 movies. They called me so I could choose the missing disc. They were really friendly. I have no complaint. Some title are b/o but they said they were expecting some new stock.

I just called. They processed my request on Jan 27, I sent in the request in the middle of December. She informed me that they shipped on March 5th. Hopefully they will arrive soon.

I sent the rebate offer on Dec. 28 and got my five BD movies today. I got four of the five movies that I requested.

I just called.

They received my offer and I qualified. I sent it in first or second week of January but they said it didn't get in her system until February 28th. ROFL -- That sucks. That means I've probably got to wait quite a bit longer. Personally, I thought 8 weeks was long enough but I guess in their minds as long as I get them within a year then that's okay...

Oh well.. At least they have all my info and I 'qualified' so it's not all that bad. The customer service rep sounded like an 18 year old girl but at least she sounded like an American and was friendly. I'd encourage anyone else to call, too. All you've got to do is give your last name and zip code then verify your address and they'll tell you the status.

Hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer but considering it took them more than a month just to start processing my order, I've probably got at least a month to go.

Called today and they said mine shipped yesterday. I submitted the offer on or around January 15th. The lady told me to allow 3-4 weeks for shipping, but also said it shouldn't take anywhere near that long. I almost asked if they go out courier pigeon, but I refrained from being a smart ass. :D
