Well maybe we need HBO on our side and make that HD-DVD exclusive!

I understand that it's expensive($145 Shipped overnight) but it was IMO worth it.
I do hope it comes out domestically as this is really a killer series and release and would sell very well.

Likewise, even I pony'ed up the money for this one.

One of the greatest war dramas to come along in a while.

The depth of the characters and compelling dialogue just drive this movie home into my one of my all time classic collections.

Really shocked this release has stayed pretty quiet...

Have any websites ( like HiDEf digest) rated this movie for the Japanese version yet? I want to know how well it looks in HD.

I need to shell out the $145 for this amazing series in HD, since it probably won't come out here for quite awhile. I would love to be proven wrong though...

Paramount has made a big announcement but they need to live up to the expectations by frequently releasing catalog titles.

As much as I enjoy the show, $192 is really pushing it. When it finally comes state side, it will be under $100. The question is when is it going to come out here.

Yeah, the word was that in Japan, prices can go up substantially once the release date arrives.
I took a leap of faith as the SD DVD looked so good and it was shot in hi-def.
I want to know how well it looks in HD.Not that I'm HiDefDigest or anything, but it looks and sounds great on my system. No disappointments at all.

If enough people bugged Tony at Xploited, he might carry it unless the price differential was to big.

Ditto. Even at $70 it's a must buy! However, $200 is a wait for a stateside release.

Yeah, $192 is just to much, even for the most amazing mini-series in television history. I've got my fingers crossed for an early stateside release!

Not to rub it in, but I'm watching the final disc tonight. The funny thing is, when I gave my wife the option to watch anything in the house, she picked Band of Brothers. She is not usually into these things and could care less for HD, but this is one excellent series and one excellent HD-DVD. Do yourself the favor, buy it. All it takes is taking a break from much of the cr@p out there (Blades of Glory, TMNT, etc.... just rent those) and making one big purchase. Do it. It's awesome!

This is a great series, but $192 is a tad too much. That is almost the cost of a HD DVD player! I'll wait till it is released in the states for a more reasonable price. Until then, the sd version pq is good enough to hold me over.

I will rebuy and gift my existing DVDs, but only if they're noncombo.

Another vote from me on the quality of the discs. I've just finished watching Bastogne and am sooo loving it! I watched it so many times on SD-DVD I know the dialogue by heart but the HD-DVD gives it a total newness. Superior colours, deeper blacks, better contrast, improved sharpness and AQ too. A total upgrade over the SD-DVD. Glad I pre-ordered to get the cheaper price.
