Nice!!!

Can someone point me into the direction of what the HD DVD online features are? I feel the need to buy yet another HD DVD addon for my 360 as my A2 is miles away from an ethernet connection.

The commercial for this release was indeed well-done and informative for those who aren't aware of the HD DVD format.

Anyway, Sam, I'll PM you my home address so you can send the box set my way when you're done reviewing it. Sound good?

Wow, that is some great looking packaging. I'm not normally one to drool over that, but they've clearly put some thought into it. Classy.

Seeing those images just gets me pumped for this. I'm really looking forward to watching this again, all in a row, in crystal-clear HD.

It's like the Watchmen (comic) with more superpowers. Excellent show! IMO, the best new show since Lost. This is a easy buy for me.

How tall is the box? Is it the same height as all the other HD DVD cases? Basically, does it attempt to blend in on the shelf or stick out like a sore thumb.

Well I know at least one reviewer who can do a review of a full season in 1 hour.

One of the most poorly written shows on tv. This crap is 1 small step from being the COMPLETE trash that Smallville is. I don't understand the continued love for it, and am quite sure that as it moves through another season or two more people will agree.

/shrug there's something for everyone with 50000 channels. What's a well written show in your estimation?

what????!!!

This show isnt perfect but its tons of fun, very well written and one of the best shows in a while. I got the HD-DVD from amazon today and set looks good, extras that I scanned were cool. love the u control stuff. The PQ is very sharp and detailed but more noise then there was I saw it in HD on TV. It was much cleaner. Some scenes have alot of noise some scenes are pretty clean. Still very good PQ, Audio doesnt sound any different then when I first saw them on TV.

I think so. If you look at the U-Control tutorial they also show scenes from future releases like Bourne Ultimatum, Evan Almighty, and The Kingdom and they showed the new menu with them. At least I distinctly remember a shot of a Bourne Ultimatum scene playing with the new menu laid over top of it.

I really like the new menu also. Looks a lot cleaner than the slanted menus they've used before.

Just watched episodes 1 & 2, via Netflix. Wife and I liked both very much.

The box set is great. Very nice packaging. I thought the PQ is fantastic. I got mine on Tuesday and have watched the first 6 episodes so far. Some pretty cool special features.

I did see the show when it was on NBC during the season and thought it was great except for the sub-par season finale.

Can't wait to watch the rest of the series (and looking forward to the cast video commentaries!)

I watched the pilot episode and the PQ was very good. I wasn't too impressed with the PQ of the NBC broadcast of the earlier episodes, but I noticed a nice improvement on the HD-DVD.

One of the big problem scenes in the HD broadcast was when Claire saved the man from the train-wreck. That scene exhibited a lot of macroblocking, but it looked very clean and stable on the HD-DVD.

Did anyone else check out the U-Control tutorial? They showed several scenes from Bourne Ultimatum and the PQ looked phenomenal! This looks like it has the potential to be a real reference disk. Here's hoping we get a TrueHD soundtrack as well!

Can someone who has the set tell me the breakdown for the disks?

I am basically interested in the last disk. Does it have episodes or extras?

I am basically Netflixing it and dont want to rent the last disk if I dont have to... I have too many Seasons to catch up on before the next season starts:

-Heroes S1 (never seen it)
-Prison Break S2
-House S3
-The Office S3

Thanks for all the help...

Here's a question (didn't want to start a new post).
Do you think Universal is using the NBC "Hero's" series as a test? If so, I sure hope it sell's amazingly in HD.
Because I would love to see House, and Friday night lights get announced someday for HD. I was actually holding off today at Costco from picking them up on Standard Def, in hopes that they would announce something today, or at CEDIA.

no big deal...it is very overhyped, and people make it out to be the next xmen

but in reality, it's very slow paced, and the characters are very annoying and unlikable

Wow I couldn’t disagree more. The Episode “Company Man” is the first TV show to provoke an emotional response form me EVER. Heroes may be over-hyped, but like BSG I find it deserves that hype. The series is well written and very well acted by TV standards. There is foreshadowing as well as multiple, cogent, sub-plots and I am hard-pressed to think of another show on TV, save Lost, that has both of those going for it.

If you only watch one or two episodes of Heroes you will probably wonder what all of the hype is about, but give it a good run and watch the entire first season or at least until Episode 17 and you will see what all the talk is about. It’s much better than Jericho, which was the other series I gave a try last season; I wish I could have those 22 hours of my life back.

Same here; I got through the first five episodes and I am having a blast watching this show. I completely overlooked this series on cable, as I thought the content wouldn't appeal to me. Needless to say, I was completely wrong in my assumption. This box set is easily worth double of what I paid at Amazon.

I freaking love this show! I haven't has this much fun watching a tv show since my first viewing of Farscape. I'm just through the first five eps; trying to not binge it all down in one or two sittings, and so I'm just watching an ep or two a day. But so far it's been a whole lot of fun, and this is really a bargain at $60.

The whole Nikki/DL storyline was annoying to me. But that was pretty ancillary and I loved most of the other characters, especially Mr. Bennett.

I watched the whole thing in a few days, was tough to turn it off.
