Due to the recent Paramount announcement are we not getting this title anymore?

Face/Off is distributed by Disney outside North America. If Disney knows what's good for them, they'd release this title without region coding.

Not likely, since Disney is a region-code diehard. One of the reasons why they abandoned HD DVD.

Your tagline says you have both formats so why ask this question??

I have both but prefer Blu. Also this is an action movie so I would prefer to watch it in 1080p/24.

Thanks.

There are a wealth of Disney Blu-Ray releases in Europe that are region free. Starship Troopers, Con Air, Crimson Tide...

Face/Off is available on BD in Japan from Buena Vista and it is region free. It also has an English PCM track.

I was wondering this too. Does that affect Face/Off, Top Gun and the Jack Ryan flicks? I'm sure the retailers will be notified this week.

Supposedly it starts with Blades Of Glory. Being that its set to release next week and the abruptness of the announcement, I wouldn't be surprised if there are not copies of BoG on Blu ready to be sold, but who knows if they will make it to retail

Gosh I wish I'd known that before buying the Buena Vista UK Starship Troopers. But alas... it worked on my Region A PS3.

Disney Catalogs are region free.

Ahh, that makes more sense now as when I upgrade to a 1080p projector I would prefer this option also.

Several sources have mentioned they've personally seen copies of the BD Blades in the back rooms of the retail outlets in which they work.

I suspect if they haven't already first thing tomorrow the retailers will all receive shipper call tags to return them all.

The real question is how many copies will "leak" to eBay first?

Well, if I really, really want any Paramount titles I'll look for the best import version I can find.

If enough Blu-ray's sell over-seas the studios will have to take notice.

Grab it before it goes out-of-stock which I don't think would happen coz it's released by BVHE.

Is this face/off you speak of the movie where cage and travolta switch bodies? If so...who cares? That movie is um....not good.

Thanks for confirming that! That's exactly what I came here for to check. I can't stand DD+ and other lossy audio tracks, hence even though I'm format neutral, no HD-DVD for me. PCM/TrueHD will always win :D

It never fails to amaze me when people say things like this.

Obviously the OP cares. If you don't then please do NOT reply to their question.
