Looks good. What I'm wondering is why are there no jaggies (which almost every 360 game has)? I wonder if the pictures were taken in replay mode, which bumps up the textures and cleans up jaggies (like Madden's, Forza's, PGR's).

gameplay videos had "jaggies". They seem to smooth over the "in game" shots before releasing them.

It looks nice and all but I'm a avid PC fps gamer and understood the hype surrounding the halo series. They are just average shooters at best, plenty of much better shooters on the PC.

It's sure coming along nicely. I wasn't too impressed with the first screens that came out, but they've done a LOT of work in the past few months. Looks fantastic now!

It may not be the best graphics we see on the 360 but I think these look great, and as long as it's nice and smooth it should provide an awesome gaming experience.

the second and last screen shot are the only ones that 'might' be in game and even they don't seem to have any real jaggies and tons of AA going on. So either they are are retouched to look better or are replay or cut scene pre-rendered stuff. Nothing we have seen on a 360 so far indicates the level of AA we are seeing on those pics.

Don't get your hopes set to high, you will only be disappointed.

I played the campaign mode for Halo 3 the other day and I can definitely say that there were plenty of jaggies on the screen. Personally I didn't think the graphics looked that much better than Halo 2 other than the true widescreen and character faces, but the game I played is still a beta so Bungie could still be tweaking. But jaggies were still everywhere to be seen.

No one has hated so far, we've all been impressed, albeit skeptical. We've seen so many screen shots of Madden and Forza that look stunning, only to be let down by jaggie and AA problems. If the game does indeed look like that, while running, then I will be very impressed by the game's visual quality.

My only nitpick, and a very minor one, is that the characters almost look like action figures. I understand however, that this is the style that Halo has always had, and that it is more of an art "problem" (style jumping from last get to this gen) then technical one.

Anyone else have a problem with the guns on the back of the characters? Looks like someone took some glue and just put it on lol just kidding. The game looks great and going to play nothing but multiplayer. The Beta was great and I don't care about graphics. Can't wait till I get back to the states. Hope you guys are still on.

Don't get me wrong! Those screen shots look good, but they still look a level below GOW to my eyes. Why don't we just wait until the 25th of Sept to prove if the "haters" will be proven wrong.

It's not going to be on quite the level that Gears was......theres simply too much going on and too much packed into the game. I'm totally okay with that, and honestly if the game looked just like the Beta I'd still think it was a blast.

I won't go that far, but I'll say that I'm quite happy with the way the game looks - if it actually does look like these pics.

Mosh Pit? Looks intriguing. I think I'm digging the idea and that body count looks promising:)

Thank you Jon - that needed to be said. I am currently replaying Halo 2 on a 720 DLP projector and an awesome Sony SFP crt - I think it looks great - even WITH the jaggies...

I'm sure that anyone who even thought Halo 2 was "just OK" will be pleased with Halo 3. I'm sure I will.

Wow, Master Chief's elbows are way too pointy. These are the worst graphics I have seen in a long time.

I hope that the game looks much better when it comes to the PS3 next year.
