and just completely annihilate HD-DVD. Paramount and Dreamworks would have no choice but to come back to Blu Ray.

We have so many redundant separate discussions going in on....

please don't start little side discussion threads. Here's the last major star wars thread

Or place this topic in one of the several Fox threads going on right now

even if star wars came out tomorrow, would it matter? I mean, I've been soooooo friggen quadtruple dipped on that set of movie's so many times now. I dont think I could stand to watch it one more time, Even in High Def! let alone buy it AGAIN. I bought the first three on vhs, then the same three "remastered" on vhs, then the very same three on dvd. and of course everyone knows about the newest "weakest" three on dvd. there is nooooo firggen way I would buy it all over again unless it was like 30.00 for all 6 movies which isn't going to happen! I think star wars will hold little to no weight in HDM sales if you ask me for the reasons I listed. But ... who know's maybe its just me

I'm really surprised threads like this are still open? It must be an overwhelming mess trying to clean up this and the HD-dvd forum. I just wish ppl would use more common sense before starting a thread

i'm one of those that don't care much for star wars anymore. seen it a million times and not in a hurry to add it to my collection. compared to other special efx/fantasy film (like the lord of the rings trilogy), star wars really looks dated and old.

It's not just you. You left out the VOD and HD cable showings too. A big problem for the studios is that before the hidef DVD division started they already had this issue to deal with. All competing formats do is slow whatever transition there would have been down. I can't imagine the 1080p display manufacturers are all that thrilled with this too. OTOH, it's a good day for the cableco's.
