I hate how I am always getting offers via email and snail mail for one month free for friends or family, but never get a deal for myself.
Unless I a missing something in these offers since I ditch them right away now. I see absolutely no incentive to give them out to family and friends.
What about me, who already has Netflix?!?

Maybe Netflix should start giving referral bonus. But then they will add a condition that both the subscribers should be a member for at least 3 more months or something before they pay the bonus. Otherwise it will not be profitable for them. When companies give referral bonus they typically have these conditions. I personally like that I do not have to sign a contract for Netflix, I hope they do not make us in the future. If Netflix goes that route, then they might be able to offer more incentives for the existing customers, otherwise I don't see how they will be able to afford it as a company. Any company, be it Comcast or Dish or DirectTV or any cellular provider, will have great incentives for new customers. But once ou sign up for a contract, you are stuck with it. That's just how the world is. :D
Having said that, you can always cancel the membership and sign-up with free month. ;)

That would at least be something, but nothing I would go out of my way to use. They would have to have a rule in there that the new user last x amount of months, which I think it perfectly fair.
I also like the fact that I do not have to sign a contract. If they switched to a contract, I don't know if I would stick around. I like the fact that cable doesn't require a contract, though since being forced to switch to Comcast since they bought out Time Warner in the Twin Cities (not sure how that is allowed), they have added a fee to change your plan. Which from what I have heard about Comcast, is just their way to nickel and dime their customers.
I just wish Netflix would give out incentives for their current customers. I have since turned off getting these kind of promo's sent to me, so I won't get them anymore. But I always remember thinking, why do I care about this promo, why should I pass it on to anyone?
