With the release of Two Worlds, which was supposed to be today, now pushed back until the 23rd I though we should see who was planning on getting this game? As I understand it there will be no online lobby to stand and yell LFG or so on it will be by invite only up to 8 players together online.

I thought it would be nice to see who was getting it and exchange tags so when we get online with it we can at least have some chance of getting a group going.

There is some footage on youtbe of the PC demo that looked pretty sweet, I think this game is gonna be alot like Everquest/Oblivion which is just what the 360 needs. I wonder why no demo released for the 360?

I had been planning on getting this all spring\summer. Funny though when I went to get Bioshock today I totally forgot about even asking to see if this was out. Not sure that there is a time anytime soon that I will have time to play it now either. I will probably pick it up during the next game drought next year sometime.

The one thing that concerns me is that there aren't any reviews out and its only a couple of days before release. Not usually a good sign. But I still plan on getting it if it gets good reviews. I'm not expecting it to be better than Oblivion which I guess is good so that I don't have too high of expectations.

first of all, i LOVE oblivion, i have 160-180 hours into it.

i have two worlds for pc, and had planned on getting it for 360 but i just cant get into it on pc.... oblivion was fun from the get go, and i'm sure two worlds gets better, but as of right now i wont be buying it for 360.

I havent heard anything about a demo, usually its a few weeks before release of the game. I did find that there is supposed to be a central HUB area where players can meet up and chat, exchange items and form teams, thats a plus. official site is www.2-worlds.com

I will probably be buying this game although Its kind of suspicious that no reviews are out yet, there wasnt a demo, and it keeps getting delayed. I'm going to want some people to play with though so my gamertag is Trounce X feel free to send me a friend request anytime after friday.

This game was very buggy and unfinished, even with all the latest patches on the PC. Hopefully, the 360 version will be better.

As a confirmed Oblivion junkie (I'm at around 160 hours and it's the only 360 game on which I got every achievement point) I'm very interested in Two Worlds also. But the lack of a demo and absence of any reviews have given me pause as well. I'll wait for a few reviews on the 360 version before making a decision. The few pics and movies I've seen look good, so hopefully they didn't drop the ball with this game.

I agree...the lack of reviews is worrisome. My wife has close to 300 hours (!) in Oblivion and I was planning on buying this for her, but I'll wait until I get some user feedback on the game first.

Demo would be nice also...

Anyway, my gamertag is Boxcar Overkill if anyone wants to play some.

Ran the demo on my son's PC this morning and it seemes OK. Looks nice not great, great draw distanc eon PC at least. Combat seems really lame though. You just either shoot spells (Which auto aim by default) or mash the "attack button". No blocking and avoiding the enemy rarely seemed to work.

Played 30 min. Its technically rough around the edges to be sure. Framerate is unstable and the char models are lacking in polygons. Voice acting seems ok but the dialog is pretty B movie so far, I imagine the voice actors would have done a good job with more to work with.. T'is IMHO of course :)

Do not spend $60 if you are expecting Oblivion, this is more along the lines of Guild Wars (The original campaign) quality. Thats not to say poor, just much lower!

Ok I'm sorry to report that this game is terrible. Gameplay is even less exciting than oblivions and the graphics look like they belong on PS2 and Im at HDMI 1080p! Terrible screen tearing, horrible slowdown in any kind of combat, the voice acting is horrendous, barely any character customization, the interface is awful, and to top it off it plays a annoying song at the title screen that is pissing the hell out of me at this very minute. Do not buy this game. Ever. Seriously.

EDIT: Load times suck too. Just thought I would throw that one in there.

Two Worlds is just plain horrible. How can I play a game when I cant even see what is in my inventory? The words on the screen are like a size 8 font. The games chops so much during fights its frustrating. These are all things that should have been fixed BEFORE the game came out.

Oh I didnt mention how in the beginning the guy you created doesnt even exists until AFTER the first temple. What is that? They have a prerendered character during the entire opening cut scene that is not the character you created. NO the guy you created magically appears after the cut scene.

Also if you move the character left or right with the left thumbstick there is a 1 sec delay from when you hit the stick and when the guy actually moves

This game is on the level of Kabuki Warriors for Xbox1
This is shoddy programming at its finest.

i honestly feel so ashamed i even bought this game...i feel like i need a good spanking for buying this...there is not ONE redeeming thing i can say about this game...well i guess i did get a good laugh when the darth vader lookin guy kidnapped your sister at the beginning of the game...lol...or when i was chasing a rabbit around trying to kill it and it magically jumped over a 60 foot boulder and dissapeared...hahaha...absolutely horrible game...the worst game ive played in MANY MANY MANY YEARS!

and BTW...what the hell is with the souns effects? whenever you hit someone with your sword it sounds like a 7 year old squeeling or grunting...then theres always the wild bears who sound like wimpering dogs whenever you slay them...oh my how lovely that was...and then the blood! jeezuz christ, i felt like i was playing mortal kombat circa 1955 when i saw the same old two dimensional blood splat every time...and the fire, ohhhhhh the fire...two dimensional sprites at its finest!!!

im still in shock as to how bad this game is...its almost like they took homeless people off the street and gave them a few pointers and had them make a game...they might as well have just taken a shi* in the box and sold me that...i would have been much more satisfied with my purchase...just, oh man, im speechless!!!

Just to offer a differing opinion....I've put about two hours into the game and actually have enjoyed it quite a bit. The graphics are serviceable and the framerate has been playable for me. It's not silky smooth by any stretch but it's not at slideshow levels either. Actually the framerate feels about like Oblivions from what I can remember. I like the insane amount of weapons and armors I"ve run across already. I like being able to stack weapons to improve their quality. I like the horse riding mechanics. (Love that I can actually pack equipment onto my horse in a seperate inventory. Now I won't have to leave all of the sellable armor because it is too much for my guy to carry.) The world is huge and there appear to be a lot of differing locations. The storyline seems good enough from what little I've experienced of it so far. If you judge this game solely on its first impression presentation aspects then yes it will be disappointing, but if you push through that initial disappointment you might actually find that you like the game after giving it a bit more time. If you go visit some gaming forums like IGN or TeamXbox you'll see a lot of threads of people who initially disliked the game but kept playing anyway and wound up really liking it. YMMV.

*UPDATE*

OK Saturday I gave this game a second opportunity to play and see if I can actually get past the flaws. Well it worked. I cleared my X360 cache, played for two hours and now I cant put the game down.

The way the weapons system works reminds me of Kotor with creating and stacking with dice rolled hits.

Play this game through the first 7-10 missions and you will notice that it is much better than EVERYONES initial reaction including mine.

I have to disagree with the reviews that it is unplayable. At first, I was positive I was going to return it. I had all the negative thoughts everyone did. Very dissapointed, but I stuck with it, tried it at night and I found myself pretty excited about the game. Once I got into a few good quests and got into some dungouns I was impressed. Underground areas look pretty good (graphic wise). The constant better weapons reminds me of Diablo. I love the stacking, the modifications, enhancements, etc. Pretty impressive. I love the summoning spells. Some of the more buff creatures can kill anything you come across, making battle much more easy.

Now, there are a LOT of things wrong with the game, its not worth $60. But if you find it used, or cheaper, and are willing to stick to it, I suggest you buy the game. The clue book helps a lot get around and understand how quests work. Sure, the font sucks, outdoor graphics are subpar, screens can be confusing, but once you get the hang of it, its a pretty descent role playing game.

This game IMO blows Oblivon away, the world is just so much larger and more diverse and offers far more to do. And it just kills Oblivon in the amounts of item drops, spells, armour selections, weapon types, etc that it offers you, and allows you far more flexibilty in how you develop your character. I also love the one thing many hate, the combat system. Its quick and dirty, and not as plodding as that in ES4s IMO.

As too graphics, I'll admit they are not as detailed as ES4s, but they are no where near PS2 quality. If PS2 games looked like this, I had no reason at all to upgrade to a XB360 and PS3. While lacking Oblivons outright graphical prowness, the ones in TW are IMO sharper, more colorful, and way way more diverse and the game has some of the most amazing scenic scenes ever seen in a game. Nothing like climling up a mountain and see the world unfold for 50 miles seemly infront of you, with a valley below you, a river snaking through a forest in the background with the sun glaring off it, while beyond it the sun light beams around the spires of a temple. And on of the main reason this looks so impressive is because of the insane draw distances this game has going on.

As to lag, screen tearing, and frame drops, I have over 12 hours invested in the game and not once have I experiance any of those issues at all The only glitch I have seen so far is that once I teleporting into a foggy area, and the fog appear as white squares floating around. I just teleported once again and then back into the area, and the glitch was gone.

Awesome game IMO, and for my money a better more enjoyable, and deeper game than Oblivon was.

Alright I will admit the graphics arent PS2 quality I was just trying to get the point across that the game looks bad. Does it not tick you off that Oblivion has far superior graphics and it came out a year and a half ago?

I dont believe for a second that you have not had any of the issues you listed. I have seen 5 other people play this game on different Xboxes and Tvs and its all the same. The framerate sucks, period. Almost to the point where it is unplayable. For me anyways.

I gave the online a shot too and it might actually be better than the single player. You can pick between a human and an elf and theres IDK about 6-7 different classes you can pick to be(warrior, necromancer, etc) I was confused though because you can create a PvP player and an RPG player. From what I understand you cant use your single player character online. Anyways I tried to join a game and it wouldnt let me connect so I gave up.

My statement about it not having PSX caliber graphics wasn't directed towards you, I didn't even see you said that, and was instead directing it towards IGN and the gamefaqs crew that have. And no it doesn't tick me off, why should it? Not every game can be Oblivon, GOW, or Bioshock, those games had immense money behind them and some of the most talented artist out there. I realize that not all games can reach that level, so I don't try to do the graphic whore dance on every game that is released. IMO TW looks good all things considering, I would place it high mid level graphics compared to other XB360 games, I have seen much worse on the console. Looks better than games like Bullet Witch, Untold Legends, and Genji IMO. I am playing it in 1080p on a Mits WD-57731, and it looks pretty damn good to me. really nice subtle wind efrects, and some really nice lighting and shadow effects on the trees.

As to framerate and lag issues, I honestly have had none and I have quite a few hours sunk into the game. Maybe I am lucky as hell and got a miracle copy or something, but my copy of the game runs butter smooth and very comparable to ES4. My biggest fear is that a patch or update is released, and it ruins how well my copy runs now.

OK, here is my take on the game after 4 days of playing.

OMG the voice acting is horrible! Also, as others have mentioned the graphics are not great and, more importantly, the art style is pretty stale. Finally, there is some definite annoyance w/ smaller things like adjusting your items.

Despite those things, OMG I'm loving this game. Seriously, I think it might have helped because I read the reviews and I had no expectations, but I am having a lot of fun with this game. Very compelling story. Some very fun skills, weapons, and spells. And as a whole, some really neat takes on the massive world rpg thing, such as the teleport system. Overall, I highly recommend this, just have a good laugh at the voice acting and dialogue. And remember, there is a difference between dialogue and story. The story is very good.

I think the problem is, this doesn't sound like a $60-$70 game. The good news is, since there is such much "hate" being spread about this game's lack of polish by the Polish (I KILL MYSELF!) that the price will drop pretty fast, even if it's just used copies. What pricepoint to buy it at though? $40? $20?

I guess it depend on what your are looking for as to rather its worth the price, if graphics are your thing I guess it isn't, but if you want content it is very very much worth $60. I guess for me that is the issue, IMO games like GOW are not worth $60, no game no matter how pretty is worth that much IMO if it offers little content and only 5-6 of gameplay before completetion. TW on the otherhand, though not the best looking game out, is easily worth the $70 I spent on the CE of it because of the massive content it offers. TW easily boost the largest game world on the XB360, and from what I have seen in my barely game knicking 12 hours, more content than even Oblivon. For me, I just cannot fanthom anyone intelligently arguing that a game that delivers hundreds of hours of gameplay isn't worth $60 but a game that only offers under 7, especially for us who don't care for online, is because its prettier. IMO that is what is wrong with gaming today, too much style over substance, and the content lacking games that breeds.

dpe8598

OK here is the price things summed up, and I really think this sums it up.

- If you are a big open world RPG fan, like me, and you LOVED the old Ultima games (even the ones that were not so good), then this is worth 60 dollars to you.

- If you are not a huge fan and you have only ever liked games like Oblivion (you gotta remember, Oblivion appeals to a wider audience then any open world RPG ever), then you might not like this game at all. I would rent it first, then buy it at your own pace.

If the game had showed up a week earlier I may have been able to justify the full price. But as I wont have a lot of time to play it anyway and as there are some other large RPGs coming out, I will have to wait until next year and get this cheap.

Odd though that the initial reviews were OMG this game SUX!!!1!!! and now its more like "well this game is actually decent just not polished". There is a number of games like that. Games like Just Cause, Farcry, Quake. People say they really stink, but for me when I play them, they are really not that bad. I think we have all been spoiled by some really stellar games and in a way those ruin all the other games since not every development group will be able to live up to the highest standards.

My thoughts exactly. There are so many exceptionally great games coming out lately.

I remember not too long ago feeling that when a new must have release came out that it had been months and months since the last one. Now, I am playing more than ever, and I cannot keep up with the release pace of outstanding games.

I get the impression that game developers have figured out how much money they stand to make by making a quality game. Perhaps the number of games from each developer is down, but the overall quality is way up.

Ok this is going back on my rental list. Initial reports had me thinking really turned off, but this is turning out to be an interesting little difference of opinions.

Did they say how soon it will be out?

I'd prefer to wait until the patch comes out before I start playing.

The site just mentioned "soon". They already have a patch for the PC version and are releasing another patch for that too. I hope it is like REAL soon.

Maybe they should finish the game before they release it?

My thoughts exactly. This has all the hallmarks of a rushed release.

This game is NOT as bad as everyone is saying, yes it does have some flaws but I am having a great time with it. I can sacrifice KILLER graphics for better gameplay. I have not seen any tearing mabye a few slowdowns but thats it.

There are tons of quest to do or not to do its your choice. I havent played online yet because I cant quit doing quest offline.lol. I bouight it AFTER readinmg all the crying on game faqs and I'm glad I did. It IS a very playable game and like someone else mentioned the devs are working on a patch to fix alot of issues. I plan on spending alot of time over the 3 day weekend playing this. If you stand back on top of a mountain and look across the map you can see things as plain as day and there is alot of detail in the armor and things...good game IMO

The draw distance in this game is absolutely amazing and there is some really cool armor.

Overall if you can get past the first hour/the steep learning curve there's a decent RPG past the initial frustration.

alright, I thought oblivion got monotonous, cave digging every 5 minutes hour upon hour. Nah I don't plan on wasting anymore time with it. The graphics are excellent, but no more.

...and you all are pretty convincing. The fact that you all OVERLOOKED THE GRAPHICS and are still playing? This game must have SWEET gameplay.

I'll pick it up tomorrow. I'm itching to playa a "funner" version of Oblivion and this sounds like it might fit the bill.

I give up. I am going to trade this in today.

I am getting a headache playing it. I am enjoying the game but the framerate is just a killer. I also have to spend 30 min to get a decent game online without lag only to have it last 15 min before it ends.

I hope Sacred works out better.

Not a bad game but IMHO it needed more time before release.

Sweet jesus, this has to be one of the worst, most unpolished games I've ever played.

I..... I don't even know where to start.... I just want to go wash my hands now.

The more I play this game the more I like it, and there is a way to delete the quest after you complete them..unlike other RPG's that clog up your quest book.

If you get 2 of the same weapon, armor, shield etc you can combine them for a more powerful item, if you get another to make 3...add it also you can easily have a level 9 sword after a couple hours. I have oblivion and I've played it 2 hours...this game I cant put down, and I havent even started on any magic stuff yet but the hotkey works great.

I played online fri and sat night, no lag I played for 4 hours each night and had a blast. Dont let some negative feedback stop you from at least trying this game, tons of rares and items to find and loot and combine and the quest are very satisfying and there are lots of them..

No on the quest log. I heard on thier web site that one of the fixes in the patch coming out will address the quest log. Not sure what that means, but almost anything would be an improvement.

Wait for Dark Messiah (or buy the PC version). It's a fun game, plays like Bioshock in some ways. The story is linear, but still a great game. BTW Gamespy gave Two Worlds a 1/5.

I read on the Playstation board that you cannot trust review sites with exclusive games. This was the formula I believe:

PS3 exclusive:

Average X .75

Whats the forumla for 360 exclusives tgable?

That was IGN. BTW I'm thinking this constitutes trolling, taking my joke out of context and posting it in another forum...

It just seems odd you would be posting scores after spending time explaining they are obviously biased. hardly any humor in the post, I must have missed it.

Or were you joking when you came into a MS forum and suggested someone not buy a game based on a review score?

So IGN is biased but gamespy is not? Or is IGN only PS3 biased? But could Gamespy not be 360 biased? Sorry many variables. Wait... since IGN owns Gamespy is Gamespy biased!

I reached level 50 before my 360 died. Game just gets better and better. The items you find are so cool. I like mixing potions and creating something new. I always brew the immunity to poison so I can take on the necromancers (their poison spells do no damage) you can basicalyl wipe out 20 necros in one fight since they can't hurt you.

I'm pretty wishywashy. I was at GS, ready to pick it up... and after I ignored a bunch of "children" chiding me about the game, the guy at the counter wanted to "make sure" I really wanted it. I decided to wait and read some more reviews. (Thought about Blue Dragon too, but left)

Normally I'd just pick the game up regardless... but really, most of my games (besides racing games... which aren't really games if you know what I mean) are games that I play for a week, and never touch them again. I have Bioshock (it's great) but I haven't been in the "mood" to put it back in after playing only 3 hours last week. I feel like it would be the same with 2W. In a week or so, I won't let it see the light of day, and thats 60 more dollars wasted with the holidays creeping up. With all the bad reviews...everyone can't be wrong about 2W. The game must have some flaws, and the people that continue to play simply are gamers in the real sense of the word.

Weird. Besides GTAIV, PGR, TDU2 there really isn't anything I must have on the 360. I guess I'll pop Bioshock back in. I'm certain that I'll be sucked in as everyone else was! If not, I'm giving my 360 a complete rest...maybe get back to recording music or something.

edit: sorry for the personal rant fellas.

This game blows....I heard all the fanboys getting there panties in twist about this one for the last 2 years. So it gets released with no promotion, nothing. i am not one to judge a game by cover art, but come on...lol! Generic knight swinging sword in the forest...ooooh, gotta get this! Anyways, I rented, played for 20 mins, told bb the disk was scratched and rented tiger woods. Peace.

LMAO, yeah 20 mins is not enough to decide weather its good or not. yes this game has flaws but its not unplayable and "supposedly" all these issues will be fixed via a patch.

Yes you can delete the finished quest, highlight the quest you have done push Y and it gives you an option to hide it...I've done it several times now.

Well it looks like a rushed release is really hurting thjis title from what could have been a really great RPG, I'll be the first to admitt that they should have polished it up more before it hit the shelves, hopefully we will get that patch;)
