Hi all,

I know there are a billion threads, which is exactly why I can't find if this has been talked about already (I'm sorry, but AVSForum's search engine blows...it doesn't search for multiple words AND'd together!).

Everyone is going crazy over Dreamworks movies like Gladiator coming out at some point only on HD-DVD.

The press release is a bit confusing...is it Dreamworks Animation or all of Dreamworks that is now exclusive (with the exception of Spielberg, I know)...

Chris, confused...

Dreamworks Animation was split off and a standalone company after the Paramount Purchase. Paramount got the rest of Dreamworks SKG. So the exclusivity applies to both because Dreamworks Animation said they are exclusive, and Paramount who now owns Dreamworks SKG also announced exclusivity.

This is ALL Dreamworks (except Spielberg titles which will be both formats)

The Viacom Press Release (http://www.viacom.com/NEWS/NewsText.aspx?RID=1042073) specifies "Movies Distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment Including Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks Animation SKG, DreamWorks Pictures, Paramount Vantage, Nickelodeon Movies and MTV Films to be Released Exclusively in HD DVD." And "Today's announcement does not include films directed by Steven Spielberg as his films are not exclusive to either format."
