I have news, I thought it was time to share it with all of you. I know with all the "format war" headlines, things are a bit surreal out there in HD land, so brace yourselves for what I'm about to tell you. Of course there are exclusives on both sides of this format war--CE manufacturers and Studios--but what they haven't told you, is that "YOU" haven't been locked into any agreements with any of them. By purchasing their hardware and software, you didn't give up any of your rights to shop the competition. I know, I know--Yes, you did buy their equipment and software, but if you read the packaging carefully, you will notice that it doesn't say you aren't allowed to purchase from their competition!!!! This is actually goodnews for those that have bought HD-DVD and for those that have bought Blu-ray!!! The forces behind these formats don't want you to have this information, they want you to go on thinking that you have to choose one or the other, and once that choice is made, you have no option but to support them, and them only...this is a lie. Myself and others have figured this out through careful investigation, and now we are spreading the word. Hopefully it reaches you before you do something drastic because of some new format war headline.

"strong, is the FUD...mind what you have learned...save you, it can!"

I know, some of you will say you choose to support one side...hmmm, is that so? So what you are telling me is that supporting ONE side is more important than seeing your favorite movies in HD??? Oh, you mean to say, that your side will have all the HD movies if it wins? That may be the case, but ponder that key word "if"...because "if" it doesn't, you will still have all the movies in HD on the other format--and just like now, you'll be free to buy a player to watch them. So you see? ...You can't lose this format war, only they can! You can only win, once you've seen passed all of the FUD..."nothing more will I teach you today, clear your mind of questions."

LOL...great stuff. While I only own an HD DVD player, I consider myself to be format neutral. I haven't bought myself a blu-ray player ONLY because I find them to be too expensive right now, and no other reason. I think being format neutral as consumers is definitely the way to go...let the studios fight amongst themselves while we reap the rewards by getting more releases at better prices!

I don't care who wins the "war", or even if it is ever settled. What I care most about is seeing and hearing high-quality transfers in my home. What I care second most about is being "right" when I told my friend that HD-DVD would be around for at least two years. :D I love telling him "I told you so, I was right and you were WRONG!" when he is so adamant of the opposing position. So as long as HD-DVD is around for another eight months, I will be happy.

Well said. Because I fear this thread will get flamed, I'm closing it, but leaving it visible.
