I use a PS3 to watch SD-DVD's, because it scales to 1080p.

When I use a PS3 to watch SD-DVD's in conjunction with the AE1000u, which device should I be using to scale?

Should I:

1.) Have the PS3 send out the SD-DVD upconverted to 1080p and just let the AE1000u display the image?

2.) Should I have the PS3 send otu the SD-DVD at 480p and let the AE1000u scale to 1080p?

3.) (Don't know if I can do this with PS3 and it's HDMI connection), should I be sending the AE1000u the SD-DVD 480i and let the AE1000u scale and deinterlace to 1080p?

Thanks!

I vote for 1. I like the PS3 upscaler quite a bit. I have a hard time imagining a better one.

Ok your a videophile (or at least you've made hundreds of posts on the forum) If you haven't done it yet, go buy the Joe Kane's Digital Video Essentials and see for yourself which has the better scaler. It shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes of viewing test screens to see a difference. Everything else is just speculation unless you're lucky enough to find someone with your exact setup (including things as minor as cable lengths).
