I just purchased a used Sony G90U and I would like to find a Service Manual for it. I believe the part number is 992960801.

Could someone direct me to the most economical place to purchase one?

Thank you,

Ray

Might be nice to toss him a few bucks using the "make a donation" button.

No service manual there but it definitely has the owners and installation manuals.

Ok. Beaton by 1 min.

Thank you for the replies.

I have the Owners and Installation Manuals already, but I'm looking for the Service Manual which has all of the disassembly information, parts, and schematics.

I can buy a new one from Sony for around $140, but I'm wondering whether there is a less expensive source - or perhaps even a good used copy.

Thanks again.

Depending on your definition of "economical", here's where I got mine:
http://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ecom/accessories/web/index.jsp. Just type in the part number on the right hand side of the page, put a tick mark in the "Part or Accessory Number" and search.

No it's not cheap, but its an option nonetheless.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see that you're aware of this source.

You can grab it off my server if you're patient (the upstream is not that fast). Or just search around for that filename and you might be able to find it elsewhere...

http://www.vidya.com/G90/SonyG90_Service.pdf (73Mb)

I'd recommend right click to save rather than looking at it in the browser.

Kris,
Thank you very much for the download. That is exactly what I needed!
I may buy the hard copy later, but at least this will get me started.

I also have two G70s and the Service Manuals for those, but it really helps to have the correct manual for taking anything apart.

Thanks again,

Ray

trust us on this one:

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. There are NO spare parts around for this set.

Hi Curt,

I don't plan on anything major (I hope). But I bought this with 1634 hours on it, its fairly dusty, and I hardly know how to get the cover off of it. I've got two G70s and I'm pretty familiar with those projectors. If I've got to change a tube or even open it up to do any cleaning, it's sure nice to have the Service Manual.

Thanks,

Ray

Thank you, James, as well. That looks like a nice manual. My Service Manual for the G70 did not come in a ring binder like that.

If I decide to buy a hard copy, that would be a good one.

I'd host it too but Curt won't let me. :)

I would liken being able to successfully fix a G90 because you have the service manual to being able to rebuild the engine in your Camry by using the information you have in the car's owners manual. It just ain't gonna happen.
