I have a learning remote Sony RMAV3000. I have a Sony TV but the remote for it only lets you cycle through the inputs I want to access one of the inputs directly namely Video 6 and Video 7. But if I put the code for a Sony tv in the remote it only give me up to Video 4. I want to program Video 6 and 7 directly. So my question is can I 'teach' the remote the code for Video 6 and Video 7 using the IR port on my PC to send the signal? I've searched on here but couldn't find anything. Thanks.

Not all Sony TVs support discrete codes for all of the inputs, so even if you had the right code, there's no guarantee that it will work with your TV.

If the RMAV3000 supports macros, you would always use the VIDEO4 discrete and then toggle to VIDEO 6 and 7.

If you find a way to get the PC to transmit signals, I can give you the codes for VIDEO 6 and 7. But, if there's no other way, I can sell you a cheap remote with those codes programmed in, then you can use it to teach the Sony remote.

One would think a PC in the 21st century could complete such a simple task with relative ease.

I know sony has descrete codes for Vid6 and 7. Right now I do what you suggested manually. I could program a macro to do it but the delay would have to be severe because the the tv doesn't respond quickly to input changes, and the person executing the macro would have to make sure they hit the macro then held the remote pointed at the TV for several seconds, which is automated but not optimal, plus if it missed one the user (my wife) would be lost on some unknown input and not be sure how to get back, and it would be complicated.
